Ben Finney

Cadet49

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
In any follow up literature, etc, was the fate of Ben Finney following Court Martial ever revisited?

There's the novel Republic (from the ship Finney and Kirk served aboard), part of the My Brother Keeper series of books. Details Finney's early life. It's pretty good.

I tend to think that Finney got a fair hearing (after all Samuel Cogley Attorney at Law was representing him) plea bargained down to a misdemeanor charge, and ended up as a consultant to Starfleet, making up for his past errors..

Wouldn't it be more productive to ask this question in the literature forum? I'd be interested in learning something of Finney's fate, too.

If Cogley was representing him, Finney probably got the Chair!

I think Finney's trial and the outcome was mentioned in the novel that was a riff on the old Perry Mason series by Erle Stanley Gardner. Sorry, cannot remember the title or Finney's fate.
