ok, well, I watched the last few minutes of Vis-a-Vis that I recorded on dvd and I've been wondering for some time what the extra metal thingies are on B'elanna's uniform jacket. anyone know what they are for or what they represent? I'd post the image but it's not showing up for some reason

Yes. Roxann Dawson was pregnant in season 4. The wrote it into "The Killing Game". She actually went into labor during the shooting of "The Omega Directive".

hmm....that was something I did not know. I kind of wondered why she was pregnant in The Killing Game but I didn't really make anything of it. Now I know why! Thanks!

Nana Visitor was pregnant during DS9, but she didn't get that big. And the detective -- dang, what is that woman's name -- from Law & Order: SVU, ah, Mariska (?) Hargitay (going phonetic here), she said post-pregnancy interviews, that she carried more boxes and files than ever before or since during her pregnancy. Hey, it's part of the (female) human condition and if you're an actress in a recurring drama or comedy, "The show must go on."

Yes, she was married to him but they were divorced in '94.
