Being sick sucks!

So last Tuesday i start to develop something and it gets only worse as the day goes by and i barely make it through the working day.

Wednesday i go to the doctor and he tells me i have a viral flu but since it's a virus antibiotics don't work and i have to tough it out.. come Friday i felt a bit better and was confident that by Sunday i'd be well enough to go to work on Monday.

Now Saturday i develop this nasty inflammation of my right middle ear which doesn't hurt that much but is still unpleasant but sadly nothing new to me (had a nose operation because of such infections.. different story).

Now it's Sunday night and i developed a nasty wheezing cough where i have to cough every minute or more.. sometimes even so hard i get cramps (i vomited even once after a particular hard attack).

Now my lower abdominal muscles hurt from all the strain of coughing, i can't sleep yet am tired (it's 2.30 am) and i'm just waiting for the doctor to open at 8 am so i can get treatment.

I'm so pissed right now.. 2-3 days sick is "ok" but when you lose the one sickness and others pop up to replace them it loses all the fun :scream::scream::mad:

I just hope the doc has something effective against the cough which is my main problem right now.

Sorry.. just needed to vent.

So sorry to hear you are so sick, FPAlpha.
Coughing that hard is awful anyway but when it keeps you up it's horrible because of the added exhaustion.:(

I wish the best in your recovery.

I hear ya, Ive been sick since christmas. It started getting better but decided it wanted to get worse again.

My 4 year old brought home a nasty virus from kindergarten 2 weeks ago. I spent 2 days home cuddling him and cleaning up vomit.

So of course last week my 12 year old and I caught it. I started throwing up at 2 am and kept it up for 12 hours straight, then had diarrhea for 4 days straight. My 12 year old did only a little better. It seems to hit harder the older you get.

So two weeks worth of filthy rotten laundry finally finished tonight.

^ For some reason I didn't quite need that amount of detail at this point in time.

Im sure you did, but like I said, Im not exactly healthy right now either.

Especially since I almost threw up on Mark Messier O.o

Can you get anything like Vicks Chloroseptic in Germany? It's a cough suppressent. Not something I'd recommend using a lot, but if you're coughing hard enough to vomit it'll give you a bit of respite.

An ex of my sister's had a cough so bad it was wrenching his ribs and Chloroseptic was the only thing that stopped.

Hasu - throwing up on Messier? - now that's a tale to tell the grandkids!

Yeah, I saw him on the day they raised glen andersons jersey. I had to let him pass me so he could get to the players lounge while Iwas on my to throw up in the washroom.

Pretty much the same here. I usually get sick when I go to India (asthma/allergy problems) and the fact that I had a cold before I went didn't help matters any. But my cousin was getting married, and she's an only child and practically like a sister to me, so I felt very strongly about being there with her in the days leading up to her wedding.

Between my sickness and jet lag, I've been averaging four hours of sleep a night for the past month or so. Not fun. But I feel that since I get ill so often, I'm better equipped to deal with it. And have I mentioned that the nebulizer is a fantastic device?

Hope you guys all feel better. I'm quite familiar with the ache that comes from coughing too much, and it's no fun at all. Stay in bed as much as possible, and get well soon!
