The new series of Being Human starts Sunday at 10:30 on BBC Three and HD.

They've been repeating series one recently so if you missed it there's still a couple of days left to watch it on iPlayer.

There's also a prequel video up on http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/ introducing 2 new characters, as well as some other videos on the Being Human website.

Between Being Human, Survivors, Heroes and Vampire Diaries, it looks like January is shaping up to be a big month for genre shows in the UK.

It took me awhile to really get into season 1; it was just too soap-operaish at first. But, I kept watching and really got into it. I think it was the episode with the little boy that put it over into the "like" category for me.

I wonder how long it will take for season 2 to end up on BBCA? Not too long, I hope.

Just in time to replace Top Gear as the one thing I like watching on Sundays too. Good work Auntie Beeb! Having both Nina and George in Doctor Who over Christmas has certainly whetted the appetite for this.

And Skins is back this month as well, and it's an even-numbered series so will likely be excellent.

Lots of shows back this month, Being Human, Survivors, Hustle, Skins, Law & Order UK and Shameless. That's without the American shows like Heroes, Glee, and Vampire Diaries.

Not sure how interested I'd be in a season 2. I like Lenora Crichlow, and Russell Tovey's likeable when he's not being too broad (which isn't often enough), but overall I'm lukewarm about the show. I don't care for the vampire stuff at all; I am so thoroughly sick of vampire stories (and I didn't care for the vamp girl character who seemed to jump randomly from one characterization to another on a weekly basis). And the show has trouble finding a comfortable balance of drama and humor, tending to wobble between excessively dark and angsty on the one hand and excessively broad and goofy on the other, rather than merging them smoothly as, say, Joss Whedon can.

Still, might as well ask: any word on when BBC America might show it?

Apparently there's less focus on the vampires in series 2, and the "villains" of series 2 are Humans.

I've not seen anything on when BBC America will be showing it, but considering the speed at which they've shown things like Doctor Who and Torchwood I wouldn't be surprised it was fairly soon.

It is not as brilliant as Buffy - it never will be.

I've just read Being Human has been given a 3rd series already.

I think that's an editorial mistake, it says Being Human returns for a 3rd series, when I assume they're talking about the second starting this week.

Great start to the new series. Seems more confident in itself and happier to push out the premise a little more, and even though they've not really gone any where it seems to be a bigger world than it was last series.

I liked it a lot. It seemed to act as both a series opener and a coda to the last series all at once. Really, really good stuff. The light-heartened moments were better integrated this time, and I really liked the scene at the end where the people on Windsor Street took to Annie, George and Mitchell when they served up all that tea and coffee.

That guy's machine to blast werewolves seems very intricate and unnecessary though - a bullet or two 29 days out of 30 would do the trick and be less messy!

Regarding the speed with which BBCA will get the new episodes...does any one have any clue how well the first series performed on BBCA? I would think that perhaps that might have something to do with how quickly they get it over here...

And I wonder if the SyFy-Americanized verison of BH that's in the works will impact when BBCA gets the second series...

I don't think it was meant to kill werewolves, it's meant to be a cure them, but when it didn't work he just decided to kill the test subject cos damage was already done.

Don't remember hearing anything about the performance on BBC America. You only ever hear when Doctor Who or Torchwood break the record for number of views or something.

Looks like it got strong ratings last night. It beat Five and even came close to BBC Two in viewers.

Being Human made a strong return to BBC Three last night, early viewing figures show.
The first episode of series two logged an impressive 1.41m (5.4%) between 9.30pm and 10.30pm, easily beating last year's figures.

Wasn't meant to kill them? The good doctor looked pretty damned intent on death to me. That said, I was watching BBC3 online and my connection kept screwing up, so big possibility I misinterpreted him and his agenda.

A third series of hit BBC3 drama Being Human has been commissioned for the autumn, after the second series debuted this week with an audience of 1.4 million, double that of the first run.

Enjoyed last night's ep again, seems pretty strong this series. Although things did seem a little rushed in places, I am intrigued by what's going on with Annie's afterlife though.

Also good news, looks like the series is going fairly strong in the ratings so far.

I did wonder what they might do with Annie... and damn it's good. Wasn't surprised to see it was Nina who ended up in Evil Clutches (TM) either. This vampire power vacuum stuff is genuinely interesting as well - it's a tough task for any show to make me care about vampires but BH manages it with ease it seems.
