Being Erica.

That seems really strange, since they set up Monday as their "wacky wackiness" show block.
What the heck are they pairing Being Erica with on Wednesday?

Yeah moving the show already, its doomed
Fucking CBC is a waste of tax payers money,

If it's Canadian, it sucks. I say that as a proud Canadian.

The only things we do well are news and hockey.

Yep it will suck being a Canadian show.

And sometimes we don't do that well,

I still like Flashpoint. I've always wanted a SWAT show and since Americans are only interested in cops who wear suits and ties, this is the best we'll get.

The only truly groundbreaking Canadian drama I remember is Degrassi Jr. High.

But I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Street Legal.

One thing we do VERY WELL are American or International shows that are SHOT in Canada, i.e. X-Files, Stargate, Highlander, Battlestar Galactica, etc.

So give us props for that.

Speaking as a Canadian I can tell you my wife and I went through all 5 episodes over the weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely keep watching.

Thanks for the heads up on this one Guy.

I cannot believe there are people who actually like this over-acted, pathetically cheesy show. I watched an episode, and I don't know how I got through it.

This show is an insult to women everywhere, portraying them as clueless, clothing-obsessed creatures with the collective IQ of a shoe.

It's almost like Canada's own "Sex and the City", only it pretends to be much better. It's so bad, it makes me ashamed to be a Canadian.

Between the addition of Strombo and now this tripe of a show, CBC television has sunk to new lows. Thank goodness they still have Peter Mansbridge.

I admit to quite enjoying the show, if for no other reason than Doctor Tom's endless supply of quotations.

OK, when have they once portrayed any woman on this show as clothing obsessed? Examples?

Ask the people who are going to watch that Shopaholic movie.
Oh, but be sure you speak Prada!

I honestly don't understand the motives behind watching something like that. Escapism ? Isn't it a movie about a woman who runs up massive credit card debt ?

I would say it's about the romance, but there are plenty of random movies with romances without the taint of consumerism all over them.

Problem is that a movie about romance tainted by consumerism based on a TV show about romance tainted by consumerism made a crapload of money last year.

I never intended on watching this show. However, at work we had Wonderfalls in the breakroom, and I ended up watching it and really liking it. Although what I really liked was the guy who plays Eric (Tyron Leitso). The girl who brought it in mentioned that he was in Being Erica, so last week I started watching it and watched the first season over a couple days. Tyron doesn't look as hot without the facial hair, but is still yummy.

I enjoyed today's episode, despite the sappiness (the show is a little sappy, a lot).

I thought the premiere was fantastic. I never imagined that we'd get that kind of glimpse into Dr. Tom's life, and it looks like this season will be going there more often.

So now we have a name and a bit of a history. His name is Tom Wexler, he used to be a business man, and he has a daughter who's around Erica's age. How he became "Dr. Tom" remains a mystery though.

My one question is... At the end when the guy opened the door to the storage room, Erica saw an outdoor environment with a man sitting at a picnic table. What was that all about?

We've just started getting s1 in Australia, up to ep 5 this week.

I tuned in because I could relate to the premise, there are many many points in my life I wish I could go back and change. Including losing my virginity. :D

Erin Karpluk is very cute and has a winning personality, and Dr Tom is intriguing. But, as a guy, I do have to add that sometimes it's so sweet I get a sugar headache.

It's basically Quantum Leap without any of the complication.

I also heard that there was a random lesbian episode, so... even Canadians know how to pander, I guess.

I'm sort of surprised that the show made it out there though... yay CanCon!
