Being Erica - The 4th Season

She is beautiful, amazing, intelligent, adept and has a fantastic body but awarding Erin the position in the human race of "Woman Number One" is stretching it a little bit?

I mean top ten sure, but Marilyn Munroe had 11 toes!

Johnathan Sparks recently won a contest to appear on Season 5 of Being Erica and two days ago Erin Karpluk tweet she was looking forward to it

I hope this bodes well for a 5th season. Global and CTV have already made some renewal announcements, so I expect that CBC will be doing the same pretty soon.

Errr yeah, I wish him well. But it still doesn't really mean anything. It's all conjecture at this point. He won the contest to appear on Season 5 which is what it was for, and she's looking forward to it. But that could also mean she's looking forward to those pizza commercials.

Hmm. I think they're crazy to cancel the show. It's just works on so many levels.

However, based on what's been said, It seems like the show is over.

Well, it's not so much that it's been cancelled. We don't know for sure yet whether it will be back for a 5th season or not, but the creators have said for some time that they would end on a 4th season due to the sentiment that it's better to end on a high note than to have it drag on and lose steam, which is a similar sentiment used to make a decision on ending Corner Gas.

Now that Being Erica is probably done, the next season of Sherlock is 11 months away, Doctor Who is also months away, I have officially run out of interesting television shows to watch.

I will be over the moon happy if there really is going to be a 5th season.

Season 4 will be released on DVD on June 19th.

As for a possible 5th season, we should find out within the next week or so. Due to budget cuts at the CBC, there will be six fewer shows next season, but no word on which ones will be cut.

6 fewer shows?

they still have the same number of hours to fill.

that means one of three things (or a combination thereof.).

Cheap foreign shows.

New original programming, which can include much cheaper formats like game/reality or news..

Or a longer episode run on the surviving series.

Very true. Likely a cheap foreign or homegrown reality show. Though I do know for a fact that they're picking up Murdoch Mysteries and producing the next season which was previously on CityTV, which likely counts as new to them. That's something I could see filling Erica's timeslot, and since it's a drama, it's likely it could be it. I could see lots of crossover appeal. They're both set in Toronto, albeit MM is set in the late 1800's, though I did see an episode with Micheal Riley as the director of a mental institution.

bastards!

Mr D is hilarious.

I got ten minutes into Arctic Air before I said "no".

the rest is news/reality?

Teach Williams.

I just don't like him.

If this is it and we don't get a season 5, hopefully they'll give us some TV movies. Other CBC shows like North of 60 and Da Vinci's Inquest have gone that route and I still want to see something with Erica as a full therapist.

Not surprised. I felt the finale wrapped things up fairly well, though yes, I could see some TV movies. And as I mentioned before, I think there's some crossover appeal in Murdoch Mysteries.

The good thing about Being Erica is that despite having a season long arc, individual episodes are mostly stand-alone. So I've taken to picking a random episode to rewatch whenever I'm in the mood.
