I fail to understand, unless its purely for killing Janeway, why BD gets so much hate, when its still miles better than those prior novels.
My dislike of the book has nothing to do with killing Janeway, it's in how badly David wrote it.
This has always been my least favorite part of Peter David's writing, since it has always been less that subtle, but in the past the strength of the story balanced out any cringes. But in this book the nudges were harder and even less subtle and the writing wasn't enough to balance the load.Peter David's nudge-winking of the audience reached an all-time low.
