BBC Original British Drama

Yeah, I enjoyed it, too. Interesting different take on the secret services, not so much action, bang, boom, more quiet intelligence. I liked that. Could get used to more stuff like that being shown.

Yeah, same here. I wouldn't mind seeing a Johnny Worricker series, or at least another one or two feature length stories like this one. Makes a change from gadgets and gunfire.

Yeah, that'd be cool, a couple more feature length ones, or a Sherlock style series.

Yeah, much as I love Spooks sometimes its nice to see a spy thriller where there are no guns/car chases or explosions, and where corrupt politicians merely sack/rpomote people rather than nefariously murder them :)

Be nice to see more like this.

Something weird's happened to the Facebook Luther page. I was able to post Hurrah! there too. I think someone accidentally unlocked something. Ah it's gone now. Ha ha.

No they have different views and I keep forgetting that because I'm technologically challenged.

Looks like series 10 of Spooks starts on the week of the 17th...

In the last ever series of acclaimed spy drama Spooks, the team has been left reeling by Lucas North's betrayal, and with Harry Pearce on gardening leave, Section D has a new leader. Erin Watts is acting head and she has brought Calum Reed with her, a brilliant officer and technical genius.
However, Harry Pearce survives his MI5 employment tribunal and is quickly back on the Grid in the thick of the action. Buried secrets are unearthed when Max Witt, a retired spy and Harry's colleague in Berlin during the Cold War, is found murdered by an unknown assassin.
Meanwhile Ilya Gavrik, Russia's foreign ambassador and Harry's opposite number in the KGB for much of the Eighties, has flown into London to negotiate a ground-breaking strategic partnership between Russia and the UK.
Harry makes his feelings about the partnership clear, but Home Secretary Towers insists he put a lifetime of animosity behind him and make friends with the old enemy; a request made even more urgent when the killer of Max Witt now appears to be targeting Gavrik.

As does The Fades it seems.

Iain De Caestecker (River City, Coronation Street, Young Herriot) stars in The Fades, a new BBC Drama Production fantasy horror series by Jack Thorne (This Is England '86, Skins, The Scouting Book For Boys, Cast Offs).
Iain plays Paul, a young man who is haunted by apocalyptic dreams that neither his therapist nor best friend and fellow geeky social outcast Mac can provide answers for. Worse still, Paul is starting to see the Fades – the spirits of the dead – all around him. They're everywhere but they just can't be seen, smelt, heard or touched by living beings. But now an embittered and vengeful Fade has found a way to break the barrier between the dead and the living and Paul, Mac and their friends and family are all right in the eye of the storm. But the most terrifying twist is yet to come – the fate of humanity rests in the hands of the two friends who already have enough trouble getting through a day in one piece, let alone saving the world.
Daniel Kaluuya is Mac; Natalie Dormer is Sarah, whose extraordinary ability puts her in grave danger of attack from the Fades; Tom Ellis is Mark, a teacher under suspicion when his ex-wife Sarah is missing, feared dead; Johnny Harris is Neil, a lone warrior against the forces of darkness, who becomes Paul's unlikely mentor; and Daniela Nardini is Helen who, like Paul, also has an extraordinary ability which will prove useful in the fight to save mankind.

Bit late to the party here, but I watched Page Eight last night (literally as it was about to go off iplayer) and loved it. More please!

In an ideal world the Beeb would show something like Page 8 and something like Spooks every week so I could get a weekly fix of high octane ridiculous spy stuff, and more thoughtful realistic spy drama!

On a related topic I'm really looking forward to seeing Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy in a few weeks!
