BBC getting complaints over ending of Time of Angels (poss SPOILERS)

Re: BBC getting complaints over ending of Time of Angels

I'd have complained if I'd have seen it, but I didn't, so I haven't.

Watched a very nice HD download of it on iPlayer so I didn't see this.

On the other hand, I fully support those complaining about it largely because Graham Norton is an unfunny little twat who needs to be booted from British television for good.

I watched BBC HD and it wasn't on there either. I support the complaints because I dislike the use of these pop up ads during shows. I dislike the credit squeeze too but I understand it, putting these ads on top of shows is just annoying though.

Amen to that. Graham Norton should be banned from appearing on any television bar the handful of Father Ted episodes he appeared in, in which he was still an annoying tit but that was the point of his character.

Also filed a complaint, it's bad enough having to pay a license fee without them ruining the few decent programmes they produce by advertising all the reality tv shite all over it.

I think Lonemagpie makes a good point in that it isn't just Who, and likely fans of the Dorothy show would be just as peeved if an animated ambulance drove over the screen while someone was singing. It isn't on no matter what the show in question is.

People ought to complain, and the BBC ought to be ashamed..

Re: BBC getting complaints over ending of Time of Angels (poss SPOILER

It's a shame viewers here in the US didn't rise up in droves and put a stop to this back when our networks first started.

Re: BBC getting complaints over ending of Time of Angels (poss SPOILER

Hands up anyone who thinks they'll do it again next Saturday?

Re: BBC getting complaints over ending of Time of Angels (poss SPOILER

They wouldn't dare...

Or would they?

I'm not sure, but I'm away this weekend and won't be able to watch Who untill somewhen late Monday evening

Re: BBC getting complaints over ending of Time of Angels (poss SPOILER

Well just got this email back from the BBC following my complaint...

Thank you for your e-mail.

The 'Over the Rainbow' trail in 'Doctor Who' should not have played out on Saturday and we apologise to all 'Doctor Who' fans whose enjoyment of the show was disrupted. We recognise the strength of feeling that has been expressed and are taking steps to ensure that this mistake will not happen again.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact us with your concerns.

Regards

Re: BBC getting complaints over ending of Time of Angels (poss SPOILER

Given that the reason this show is on TV at all is the fact that people complained tirelessly for the best part of two decades, surely they wouldn't pull such a stunt within a week ?

Re: BBC getting complaints over ending of Time of Angels (poss SPOILER

Okay, that was funny! I'm always willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt if they can take the piss out of themselves and the situation.

Thing is, too, it wasn't his idea to put it on and run it then.

Re: BBC getting complaints over ending of Time of Angels (poss SPOILER

It's shit like this that made me totally and utterly give up on watching TV.

Re: BBC getting complaints over ending of Time of Angels (poss SPOILER

At least they put their hands up and said mea culpa. And they definitely didn't do it this week. That said, I always watch it on a Sunday because Saturdays are busy.
