BBC breeding the new Stig

Ar-Pharazon

Admiral
Admiral
Linky for the video of the breeding process.

I suppose he'll be ready for series 16?

I only hope he's as charismatic as the last Stig. That's very important on television y'know.

Personally, I think they should just invite Rubens Barrichello to be their tame racing driver - he loved being on the show so much this year that at the Grand Prix on the weekend it aired, he had T-shirts made to give to all the other drivers that said "watch Top Gear tonight"... And even plugged it from the grid when interviewed before the British GP started!

i'm not sure that someone in a crash helmet who doesn't speak can be 'charismatic'.

Rubens Barrichello or whoever -- he'll need to be able to demonstrate the ability to sleep inside out, and have full sex with Russell Brand's answering machine. I imagine both will require extreme flexibility and quite a bit of lubricant.

Slightly related, I'm pretty sure I never saw the 2008 episode until yesterday, where they used those Toyotas in a car/soccer game. But they had Ben Collins as one of the drivers in that game.

Huh... I watched that episode fairly recently, and I didn't even clue in to that.

^ Recently as in within the last few weeks. It's probably because I'm not a motorsport fan, so when they announce the names of all the drivers for those sorts of things, I tend to tune out.

How recently? And how long ago did they release the name?

They did not release the name, there was a court case after Ben wrote a book.

At this point I really wouldn't mind them giving up on the "anonymous" driver shtick and have them actually speak with the driver every week for a moment or two about the car he is driving. I'd be more interested in hearing vehicle dynamic feedback from a pro driver than someone like Jeremy.

I was thinking the same thing, the Stig has left the building and I think trying to hold onto that is just going to be kind of sad.

Well, unless they could get the Stig's fat American cousin to return.
