Re: BBC America premiering new series at Wondercon, San Francisco, 3 A

Cool. Glad I already got my tickets for that day. Although I'm not sure I really wanted to see the first ep on a crappy screen with bad sound, and surrounded by thousands of screaming people...

But I'm sure I won't be able to resist anyway. :D

Re: BBC America premiering new series at Wondercon, San Francisco, 3 A

Damnit, I literally decided not to go just last night. . .

Well crap. Wonder if I can still work something out.

I have my press pass to WonderCon and I'm so going to this.

Re: BBC America premiering new series at Wondercon, San Francisco, 3 A

I won't be at WonderCon, but thank goodness for BBC America. No more waiting months for new Who. :D

Re: BBC America premiering new series at Wondercon, San Francisco, 3 A

One thing worth pointing out to those who might be concerned that the new Doctor will be crap, etc. - if there was any lack of confidence that the new era wouldn't go over well, I don't think the BBC would be allowing all these previews -- WonderCon, the big-screen showings across Britain, the promotional tour. In fact the last time I heard of something getting extensively previewed before its official release date was JJ Abrams' Star Trek film, and we saw how well that was received...

Not saying it's a 100% certainty -- I'm sure the boards will implode on April 3 with people loving and hating it -- but it is still a pretty good sign.

And crappy cel phone recordings start popping up on youtube on April 4th...

Which sucks. Because I know I won't be able to resist. :(

BBC1 will have shown it on the same day. So there will be better quality - but equally illegal - copies online anyway.

Wow, premiere date is the 4th?

Bad Cutter! I haven't been keeping up on the news.

I am surprised we haven't seen a preview or two by now, or a revised trailer. I guess they are keeping it mostly under-wraps.
