BBC America airs End of Time Pt I on Dec. 26

That's impressive. I'm really pleased that BBCAmerica took over the first broadcast rights, cause they've been treating the show like the prize it actually is.

Airing it right after the UK premiere is a beautiful thing. It means I won't be spending part of Christmas tearing though the internet trying to find it.

Plus I appreciate how BBCAmerica airs it without the cuts for time like Sci-Fi/syfy did.

Excellent....

Any word on when Pt.2 airs?

I would assume the week after, which would be Jan 2.

Not necessarily. Although people are assuming it'll air New Year's Day in the UK the BBC has not announced this. And in fact there is plenty of indications they may very well show Part 2 on Boxing Day (Dec. 26), which means BBCA could show it on the 27th. The reason why this is possible is the considerable success the BBC had airing Torchwood Children of Earth and Sarah Jane Season 3 on consecutive nights. This is a rare occasion for them to attempt the experiment with Doctor Who.

Hmm, that's pretty cool. Someone must have noticed the reaction at Comic Con this year.

Wish they'd do the same here. :(

New Year's Day for a new Doctor is a cool idea. Hope they do it. Especially since this is the end of our decade, and also the end of the tenth Doctor. Nice tie-in there.

I only mentioned it mainly because on the BBCA website, they were talking about airing the trilogy close together, which would be WOM, and then EOT 1 and 2. It would be great if it was consecutive nights, but I understand what you're saying.

I've known what Boxing Day is for years now...

Only because it's been on every calendar I've owned.

Good for them for releasing it in the U.S. so quickly. My friends with faster internet connections used various non-BBC means to see "The Next Doctor," "Planet of the Dead," & "Waters of Mars" because BBC America has been too slow on the uptake.

David Tennant recently on the Graham Norton show said that part two of The End of Time would be broadcast on New Years Day.

However until the BBC makes the announcement we can't be 100% sure. At one point RTD said The Waters of Mars would air at Christmas, too. (And the episode as broadcast still contains remnants from when it was going to be the Christmas special, complete with - I'll be vague not to spoil - a reference to a running joke of sorts that has occurred on previous Christmas specials. Since the BBC does not set its schedule until as little as a week before broadcast, they could still decide to show the two back-to-back. They could even -- and this would be incredible -- order that the episodes be shown the same evening as a truly feature-length event.

On the other hand, the cliffhanger for The Stolen Earth created more buzz in the media and the public over the following 7 days than Doctor Who had received in decades, so if Part 1 has a comparable cliffhanger, there would be logic in the BBC letting momentum build over a week, too.

BBCA tends to show their scifi programming on Saturday nights. With Waters of Mars and End of Time 1 airing on back to back Saturday nights, it's a good bet part 2 will air Sat night Jan 2. I imagine the delay in an announcement has to do with BBC scheduling games, but I'm 99% sure part 2 will air Jan 2nd.
