Surely that's not true. ...What about Ellen DeGeneres, for example?First live action series of an openly gay character played by an openly gay woman.

I would assume they mean superhero series.Surely that's not true. ...What about Ellen DeGeneres, for example?
I had a weird thought, how would Julia Pennyworth work for picking up the mantle. Like for some reason Kate is put on a bus and then bring in Julia as BW but not as Kate. She would seem to have the chops.

Apparently Stephanie Beatriz from Brooklyn Nine Nine has hinted as well.On Twitter, Alaina Huffman volunteered herself to be the new Kate. She already played Dinah “Black Canary” Lance on Smallville.

As long as she uses Rosa's voice, not her natural one, I'm good with that.Apparently Stephanie Beatriz from Brooklyn Nine Nine has hinted as well.
I'm picturing everyone having to google each candidate to see if they are worthy of praise or outrage. Not gonna happen since the producers only want an LGBT actress for the role of Kate and Alaina doesn't fit that criteria.
I wonder if Arrow alum Bex Taylor-Klaus would be interested in the role, especially now that Deputy has been cancelled.
It might be a while before we hear anything. I'm guessing they'll want to do chemistry reads, and who knows how long it'll be before they can do those. Plus, I suspect they might want to include Melissa.
“It wasn’t 100-percent her decision,” according to an unnamed source working on Batwoman. “It was a breakup. She wasn’t happy working on the show, and did that make her fun to work with? No. So everyone decided it would be in the best interests of the show, and for all concerned, if they parted ways. It just wasn’t a good fit.”

Makes sense because rather than hearing "We wish her the best luck" it was more like "Thank God she's gone" just after the announcement.
Living in Vancouver and long hours were making Rose miserable so she chose to leave and the CW agreed because she was making everyone on set miserable.
Ruby Rose just quit.

I hated her casting at first because I'd never liked her in anything else she'd been in but after a shaky start she turned out to be really great.
I've seen people say that they should get Rachel Skarsten to takeover the role.
No.Just replace her with Batman.
I find it funny they’re just looking for gay ladies to replace her. Surely that part of her can be acted by a straight lady.

I think the idea is the actress would play the part, maybe doing double duty with Alice as needed, same as if they recast the role with another actress now except it'd be a familiar face. That would not work at all--especially if they mean Alice takes over the role (as if there would be any believable way Luke would accept that).
