Battlestar Galactica getting rebooted (again) for NBS's streaming service

I had remembered an article from a couple of years ago where the series creators said if they made they had made the series now, Roslin would be a power mad dictator like Trump. I wonder how the series would evolve in light of recent events that it happening in the US now?
I find it far more likely that if it were done today, the election storyline of season 2 would have Baltar filling a Trump role. Which actually probably isn't that much of a stretch.
I predict the next Star Trek series will take place between the 22nd and 42nd centuries, it will have a Captain and will be on a starship, and it will release between now and 2030. I guarantee everyone I'm correct - my source tells me so.

You heard it first here, folks, in the Battlestar Galactica thread!
You realize of course, I am now interpreting this as proof positive we're getting a Captain Worf series aboard the Enterprise F set in 2403.

Absolutely! But the first half of the series will be set in the 23rd century, with Captain Sulu, who will eventually fall through a chronoton-saturated anomaly and be propelled into the future, discovering that the anomaly was caused by Worf on the E-F using a focused neutrino burst on a pulsar.

Seriously, it could happen!
:)

So that's what George Takei was cryptically referencing on his Twitter!

*Sits back and wonders how man have suddenly rushed off to George Takei's Twitter looking for something that's not there.*

Baltar? I had similar thoughts, but I was thinking of Tom Zarek.

Nah, Zarek actually knows a thing or two about politics and how to run things. Baltar is a far better choice, being a sort of celebrity who won over the hearts and minds of the voters by having them vote for a fantasy as opposed to the actual politician promising facts and realities. Then take into account once Baltar won the election his presidency basically consisted of him slacking off in the actual job aside from a few publicity stunts among the populace. Hell, make the Cylon occupation an analogy for these Corona Times and this is basically writing itself.

Really? You've been a member of this BBS for nigh on 15 years and don't know how to do that? Hmmm...

See that little number in the lower right-hand corner of every single post? That's the post number of the thread. Right-click on it, and then click "Copy Link Location", or "Copy", or whatever your browser's option is. Then, make a new post here, click on the link icon at the top of the text area (looks like a chain link), paste the URL and done. Actually, you don't even need to do all that with the link - just paste the URL as text and it will auto link. Here's a link to your post above saying you don't know how to link:

https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/bat...treaming-service.301221/page-38#post-13423908

And, if you left-click on that little number, it even pops up a nice window providing the link in a convenient BBS-formatted syntax. So many easy ways to do this.

There. So... Link?

Let's be fair. It took me a whole day for people to teach me how to make a link in TNZ after being here even longer.:)

Will the crew be wearing The Official Star Trek Helmets?

Of course! It will be the centerpiece of a new exclusive line of series merchandise. BEHOLD!

John Crichton had one of those on the first episode of Farscape.

Okay... Here’s hoping. I suspect there will be at least 2 or 3 more producers/writers/directors (each) before they settle on the property. BSG has been Charlie Brown’s missed football kick for decades.

So far we're on writer #2 and director #1?
