Battlestar Galactica getting rebooted (again) for NBS's streaming service

People are going stir-crazy now, in more luxurious circumstances than most people in the Fleet would've had. Zarek was barking up the wrong tree; most people probably envied that gardener for having an excuse to get out of his cabin and do something, rather than pitied him for the futility of his labor. Which would explain how he (and, later, Baltar) was polling so low in the Presidential race until he switched to a "everybody can go outside and will have stuff to do" platform.

Even when everything falls their will always be in the early aftermath still some semblance of normal people will try and hold onto until it finally kicks in the old world no longer exists.
They tackled this subject for about forty seconds in the pilot of TOS Galactica.

Then the focus shifted on the wacky adventures of the Cute Kid and his Unpredictable Robot Dog™! (Sorry, I'm watching it just now)

I wonder if Boxey on the new show would have ever gotten a dog or something if they hadn't written him out early on. I kind of liked him and he would have not been anywhere as annoying as classic Boxey.

You know, when you look at the season 2 finale in light of these Corona times and the lockdowns and everyone stuck at home for months on end, it really does add a new dimension to the storyline and make it all the more understandable how Baltar and Zarek won the election as easily as they could.

Maybe why they were also eager to get to the planet and give up all their tech in the series final.

That’s an interesting analogy, how they vote for Baltar because he told them what they wanted to hear, that settling on the planet was a quick fix to bringing their life back.

Saul. "Where's your Mommy?"

Boxey. "Dead. Where's your Mommy?"

Saul. "Don't have one, I'm a Cylon."

Just be cause they were not going to build cities, it doesn't mean that they went immediately "forward" to the 15 hundreds. It would have taken generations for the Galacticans to completely forget about guns and jeeps.

I agree and I think some of the stuff is exaggerated in terms of what they left behind. I am sure things like tents and medical equipment and tools were brought down. We can't judge everything on that one scene of them walking in a big line. They mostly just jettisoned weapons I suspect. Except maybe knives you might need for hunting.

"We" are Cylons a hundred thousand generations later.

Superior killing machines.

If normal Galaticans are inferior killing machines, they would have been killed out by wild critters within a month of landing.

Do we even know if Adama, Starbuck et al are even going to be characters in this series?
Adama and Starbuck are the names being used for casting two top-tier leads. It’s unlikely they’re using the names as placeholders, given they are trying to cast name actors. That said, their casting contradicts what I had heard that this series was making the robots the heroes, and not focusing on the humans at all.

Adama is any ethnicity male between 50 to 60 years old.

Starbuck is any physically fit female between 25 to 30 years old. I believe Kiersey Clemmons had it in the bag pre-coronavirus, and she left a DC Comics film to do it.

I imagine with two name actors attached, they’ll do a big fanfare announcement.

So, if this is real, it’s another reboot, as it’s retelling the holocaust story, and Adama starts off as Commander again. I’d like to see more than just this sliver, though ... as in, the whole page.

Edit: I did a Google search for that first line, "Battlestar Galactica, a gigantic battleship and spacecraft carrier (analogous to an aircraft carrier)” and it’s a generic show description that appears on dozens of Wiki sites on the web, describing both TOS and NuBSG, nearly verbatim. Someone did a rather large copy-paste job with this. I definitely want to see the rest of this entire page now.
