Battlestar Galactica Film

It been over a year since it was announce that Universal had green lighted for them to begin work on a Battlestar Galactica film.

Since then, there haven't been any news of any progress being done. No Director, writer, producer or actor and actress been announce.

Cause it been over a year? It seem like they change their mind about making it. I even ask them on Twitter, if they had change their mind about making the film. I got no responds from them.

They either being very hush, hush about? Or they didn't green lighted it in the first place. Which mean that the news itself was fake.

Last June, Richard Hatch said he believed Brian Singer still intended to make the BSG movie he had been developing with Larson. Hatch may be out of the loop, and Singer is certainly busy right now with X-Men :Apocalypse, but that's about the only info I've seen recently.

Glen A. Larson die in November 2014, the last news report I've seen was in April 2014. His death couldn't had put it in limbo. Beside, if they were working on it? His death wouldn't have stop them. They would have continue with the project.

What green light? Like a million things that have been announced, this project is in development, and it may not even be in active development at this point.

If it moves past the development stage, I'm sure we'll read about it pretty quickly. :)

Larson's death puts the project into the hands of whoever's administering his estate, which would be enough to muddle legal rights.

^ We don't know that for sure.

Richard Hatch addressed this issue last weekend at SLCC (Salt Lake Comic Con), and even he isn't sure what's happening for sure with the project.

If Larson owned a piece of the property and they hadn't worked out all the details before he died, then they would have to start negotiating from scratch with whomever owns Larson's rights now.

If Singer is the one behind this, then it could just be that he is focused on Apocalypse right now, and they might start really working on this after that is done.

His next movie is '20,000 Leagues Under The Sea'

The big thing with Singer is that he's always saying: "Yes, I want to do Battlestar Galactica, as soon as I can get past this high-profile project."

Problem is, there's always another higher profile project coming along.

Oh, that's right I forgot he posted about 20K Leagues.

Sadly this is the truth but I'm even holding my breath for the 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea remake.

This is vaporware; Larsen simply wanted another payday for the use of his name.

Exactly, his Logan's Run remake has been "in development" about as long or longer than Battlestar Galactica. I don't expect either to ever be made.

Well, one of these days someone's going to make another version of the show - it's a well-known brand that will lend itself to over-the-top action and special effects, and the last reboot was launched over a decade ago. If the next version turns out to be simplistic and short on meaning - a fair bet if it's done for the big screen - it'll be hailed as setting right much of what Moore did "wrong."
