Anyone else feel kinda bad for Doomsday, even in the theater? He's born without a mother into a world without a sun, and people immediately try to kill him. Maybe it had to be done, but a Spock or a Data would have taken a moment to mourn nevertheless. Even if Doomsday was a fundamentally irredeemable cockroach, because alien genetics, let the record show that in their first-ever live action meeting, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman teamed up to slaughter a baby.

Didn't feel bad. Not for a second. And I'd gladly kill any cockroach, baby or otherwise. So, yay team!
 
The question nobody has discussed but I noticed when watching this again today on IMAX - why does the flash have a little thin porno mustache?
 
Well, I finally manged to get off my couch and schlep my ass down to the movie theater to see it. Just like with "Man of Steel" I thought it was a ever-so-slightly above average film. It was good and I enjoyed it, but it certainly didn't blow me away like most Marvel Cinematic Universe movies do. And that makes me kind of sad - because I'm a DC man through and through. But, dammit, Marvel is making better movies these days.

I got to admit - I could have used a hell of lot more Wonder Woman. She was easily the best part of the movie and deserved much more screen time.
 
Checked this out at the matinee today and honestly I thought it was a decent movie. So much bad press had been written that maybe it was low expectations but I liked it. I found the hook of how the world would handle having a god in it to be interesting. It helped that it did convey Superman like a messianic figure, he truly seemed larger than life as he descends from the heavens. It's been explored before but I don't think it has in live action to this extent.

The timeout to show the other metahumans was unfortunately clunkly and unhelpful when the action was already heavily back-loaded. I liked Batman's big fight, it felt like an Arkham game come to life.

Anyway tl;dr pleasantly surprised.
 
I agree with the "time out" issues especially when the cameos could have been so easily incorporated into the story. For example, Aquaman could have been seen at the beginning of the movie in the Indian Ocean and Vic Stone could have been injured at some point during one of the action sequences.

Regarding Cyborg I at first thought that when Perry gave Clark the sports assignment that it would be tied to Stone in some way. Also when they showed the brief clip of the Metropolis-Gotham football game that we might see a glimpse of Stone.

Me too for both this and Commander Richard's post. The opportunities to organically introduce the characters were there already.

Well, it's done very well so far and has made the money that will satisfy Warners that they're taking the right direction with their DC movies and with Snyder.

I suppose that might set up a Chekhov's Gun situation with the audience expecting to see him later in the movie. That said, I was waiting for him to show there as well, spoilers be damned lol.

I understand. I could not think of a good, quick way to convey my thoughts. My post was fairly long as is. I was going to use "i win" button, but thought that was video-gameish, or a word that starts p, but that could be too offensive.

Agreed. 827 million plus is a lot. I am glad to see Warners adding more DC films into their schedule.

What a pointless remark - "could have/would have/should have" really falls flat in the face of hard numbers.

Your problem is simply that this movie is quantifiably a success and you wish that it weren't.

So, it's not true that one can't argue with success - one just can't effectively argue with success.

I did too. It seemed like such a great place to introduce him that I was actually disappointed when the scene ended and we didn't see any signs of him.
