Is it really Snyder's choice to have his movies in March or the studio doesn't believe his type of movies don't fit appropriately for a summer audience? Which might fair worse.

Didn't WB move it, after having initially scheduled it up against Captain America Civil War, with Marvel refusing to budge?

Yeah. There was a staring contest and DC/WB blinked. I imagine that insiders were aware that Civil War would have RDJ and Spider-Man long before the general public, and I would bet that that's why they blinked..

Probably another reason was how upliftingly well The Winter Soldier did at the Box Office, with that along with RDJ coming, they damn well know Snyder can't match that. But what if the director wasn't Snyder and it was Christopher Nolan as director? Does anyone think WB would've blinked or budge on the release date?

When it first came out, I called it SUPERMAN LIFTS STUFF. That's not totally fair, though. He stares a bit and gets stabbed, too.
I've got real problems with a lot of Superman Returns, but does Superman punching someone make it a better film? Which was better, Superman The Movie or Superman IV: The Quest For Peace? ;)

I thought that this movie was supposed to be released last summer but they pushed it to now so that they could have more time to re-edit it.

It's always hard to answer a hypothetical question but my best bet is that had MOS made the sort of money that The Dark Knight did, then, no, they wouldn't have blinked. Or Marvel wouldn't have 'baggsied' that date (I can't remember who called dibs on it first).

Of course, lets not forget that when Batman Begins came out, it was perceived as having performed modestly at the box-office. TDK's massive success cake as quite a surprise.

I had a horrifying thought...when they bring back Supes...what if they're faithful to the '90s storyline and he's sporting a mullet...?

(Please, don't repost the Nic Cage photo, I beg of you.)

Sorry, I don't buy it. Batman is the World's Greatest Detective. Surely he must realize that everyone has a mother. Surely he's had 18 months to investigate Superman and learn everything he could about him, rather than just blindly charging forward with a "kill him" plot without ever taking a moment to research his opponent. He could've deduced from the evidence that Superman had been on Earth for a long time before coming out, that he must've had a civilian identity and a family. And surely he knew that every criminal he killed had a family as well.
And a guy who decided to spend his life beating up criminals while dressed as a rodent because his parents were murdered before his eyes when he was a child might--just might--be motivated more by emotion than logic on occasion.

and sending the polaroids of Batman's work to Clark
That reminds me...there were a lot of Polaroid photos in this film...do people still use Polaroids?

Civil War would have won that fight even without Spidey.

It's not just Civil War WB had to worry about, but X-Men Apocalyse and Alice in Wonderland 2. Both of which open 3 weeks after Civil War. It would've been foolish to participate in a showdown, only to have X-Men and Alice (also Disney) steal their audiences 3 weeks later.

That's not the point. What's unbelievable is that Batman wouldn't have already realized that Superman had a mother, that he was taken by surprise when it was mentioned. If the World's Greatest Detective decides he's going to take down Superman, then the first thing he's gonna do is find out everything he can about Superman. And since he's the Goldarn Batman, that means he's going to figure out well in advance that Superman is also Clark Kent, adoptive son of Jonathan and Martha. He's not going to be so stupid and reckless as to go up against a godlike alien without doing his homework first. The movie is apparently asking us to believe that Lex Luthor knows Superman's identity but Batman doesn't, and that's pretty hard to believe.

They made a sudden resurgence in the last couple of years. The cameras are generally available at hipster stores.

I think most or all of the polaroids in BvS came from Lex. I'm not sure what that tells us about his character.

That is the point. You're talking logic. Batman wasn't acting logically. He was being driven and obsessed...he's good at that. He dehumanized his foe, and that simple little connection, presented in the context that it was presented in (which you haven't seen), was enough to make Batman wake up a little.

It should be noted that Superman entered that fight trying to talk to Batman and explain about Luthor holding Martha, and Batman didn't want to listen. And that Batman only came to his senses when he had Superman down and was ready to deliver a killing strike, and when Lois was there to help sell Superman's humanity while effectively begging for his life.

And since he's the Goldarn Batman, that means he's going to figure out well in advance that Superman is also Clark Kent, adoptive son of Jonathan and Martha. Now that's a good point, but not one that you specified in your previous post.

^Especially since they went out of their way to unnecessarily show us Batman's origin on the big screen again.

ETA: Maybe Batman decided that if there was a 1 percent chance that Superman didn't have a mother named Martha, then he had to take it as absolute certainty!
