Batman to return to TV?

Shall we make up a rumour and send it over? That place will literally publish any shite, so it could be quite funny to see what they run with.

are already planning on a closed set with extremely tight security to prevent any leaked footage. ets etc)

And that's the point where I stopped believing, knew it was bullshit, and heard my hopes shatter into tiny pieces.

Nobody plans stuff like that in the early brainstorming sessions, because they don't know what'll be needed if it ever even happens.

I *can* see them trying to pull off a pre-Begins, Young Bruce kind of thing for the CW though, to take over from Smallville. But nothing like what the article claims.

A Batman series could work on a network not called The CW. But Batman makes too much $$$$ on the big screen for them to just stop because Nolan stopped.

I already fabricated a Justice League movie here, but it never got picked up by other sites. :(

:p

I'm confused as to the comparison with Sherlock Holmes. I'm not seeing the connection, other than it's a TV show of a popular franchise. Are they suggesting that Sherlock Holmes is in the same demographics as the WB? On the other hand, it makes me wonder what Christopher Nolan could do with Sherlock Holmes if he ever would have the chance to direct his own vision of it.

Spiff, Remember back in the day our little brainstorming thread on a Batman/ Gotham Central type tv series? Lots of emphasis on the GCPD and its officers dealing with rampant crime plus this vigilante counterpointed to Bruce Wayne's life among the filthy rich and wildly corrupt powers that be of Gotham. It's such a rich world, and relatively easy to keep grounded if people can resist the urge to go over the top. Which includes not making Bruce Wayne the richest man in the world, but simply the scion of one wealthy family among many in Gotham.

I agree completely. Wayne's ridiculous wealth sometimes comes across as a crutch for lazy writing. Basically, if someone in the DC universe needs something expensive to be funded, Bruce Wayne is sure to pop up. (Or Lex Luthor, but that's a different ball of wax.)

Frankly, I'm surprised there wasn't an attempt to make Batman reflect the times a bit and have Wayne take at least a slight hit from the economy. There are interesting things you could do with "Budget Batman", forcing him to make some tough decisions in regards to his mission and his responsibilities as Wayne.
