Batman: Arkham Knight: Same Bat-Game, Same Bat-Developer!

I never bothered with the Riddler stuff in the previous games, so i doubt i will in this one once i get it...

You may want to. The only way to get the true, "proper" ending is to 100% the game.

I did that for Arkham Asylum, and all that happens is that you hear Riddler being arrested over the speakers.

My roommate is more of a completionist, so I just watched him do all the Riddler stuff in Arkham City.

Atarted the game today. Batmobile's fun, if a little awkward at times. And I love John Noble as Scarecrow.

I heard a reference to a certain DC movie in some background dialogue...

During a briefing in GCPD, a cop mentions a district called Otisburg!

Well using the Batmobile is as much of a pain in the ass as I thought it would be, who makes a vehicle mode where the vehicle can't turn worth a shit and then has you do stuff that requires it to turn well.

That's disappointing. :(

Well so far the Batmoblie's turning problem is only a pain in the Riddler challenges everywhere else it's still doable since it doesn't require you to navigate a pain in the ass course within a time limit.

Yep. I started the game today and did the initial Riddler challenge. It took me a number of tries before I finally got the last lap in time.

Unless driving the Batmobile calls for speed in a mission, I usually drive the Batmobile in battle mode. :)

That's how I've been doing it as well.

Honestly the way the Riddler stuff goes it seems like they want the player really wanting to vent their frustration into Nigma's face repeatedly to the point that he has to eat meals through a straw for a while.

70% done with the main story; 38% done overall.

The story is getting pretty dark, but it's awesome. I'm trying to extend it by playing a lot of side missions right now, but sometimes it's hard with Arkham Knights drones flying all over the damn town.

WB has suspended sales of the PC version due to it being so broken.

Arkham Knight for the PC has been a total disaster. This kind of behaviour from the people who made so great a game as Arkham City(or even Asylum) is not acceptable, neither is outsourcing the PC version to an obscure team of 12 developers condonable. And the 30 fps lock is a joke. Rocksteady and WB need to apologise, and probably they will, but that doesn't mean that this should be forgotten.

If Bethesda mess up Fallout 4's launch as well, then I am probably going to lose all hope for a stable PC release for any AAA game. Skyrim, Fallout 3/NV etc all had issues at launch but nowhere close to this.

It's one thing to port a game from console to PC, it's another to outsource even that. This is bloody outrageous.

It seems publishers will never learn if they only have the bottom line in mind.

Maybe people will stop being early adopters and wait until at least the first major bug fix before buying. It's the only way companies will learn not to release half done games.

So.. is the game any good? I'm holding off on buying the PS4 version for the exact same reason stated above.

The PS4 version has been developed by Rocksteady, so you should get it. It's the PC version(unsure about how Xbone version is) that is unplayable.

The PS4 version is essentially perfect, no bugs or problems other than the odd control issues with the Batmobile.

XBone is fully playable but slightly lower graphics and so on.

PC version, yeeesh, it will crash, stutter, freeze or just drop the already low frame rate to 10fps at best if it decides to cooperate at all.

It is good but not without its drawbacks -- the Batmobile is really heavily forced upon you and there are far too many "find a way to put the car here" puzzles. Half the fun of Gotham City being an open world is being able to swoop across it, and instead far too often you're forced into driving this rocket-powered tank and blowing up drone tanks. The story is a little unfocused, too, but after the complete mess that was Arkham City's story that shouldn't surprise anyone.

And I'm not even sure there are issues with the Batmobile. At least in my case, I just needed to learn how to use it. It was really awkward at first, but now I have no problem driving it around.

It sucks that the game is having issues for some people, but I'm having an absolute blast with it!

I thought that there was an article today about issues on the PlayStation Network for it?

I dunno. I was able to download all my bonus stuff just fine, and the game itself doesn't really require a network connection (at least nothing that I've done so far), so I wouldn't know about that.

My Batmobile skills are failing me. I think I've been playing too many hours. I'm not a gamer; my body isn't used to sitting in front of my PS4 for this much time. I've gotten stuck on a Batmobile boss battle, and I keep dying over and over and over.

I think it's time for a break.
