Batman 3 Production?

I found a couple of websites stating that production for the next Batman film could begin as early as February 2009:

Which would be cool. I watched Batman Forever last night with a friend of mine and forgot out a lot of that movie was cheesy, but a lot of it was good fun. I've read rumors that the Riddler maybe in this next film, and if so, I hope they do it well. Too bad Superman doesn't have high hopes like Batman is!

I decided to put multiple links on this subject in case some people didn't believe me ;) :shifty:

^Don't worry, The Riddler isn't confirmed. And likely this won't start gearing up until like summer of next year.

This is the first that I've heard of any production...I thought that Nolan wanted a break and would look at story possibilies as they were proposed to him? Feb 2009 doesn't seem like much of a break...that means we should be hearing soon about casting confirmations for new characters and villans.

I liked it too. It felt more like a movie for the Adam West series rather than a continuation of Burton's films, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It was a fun movie.

Batman Forever is the Batman movie that introduced bat nipples at the end when he is in his new suit, if you can call it that....then Batman & Robin continued with the suits....what the hell were they thinking?

I wonder what a true third and fourth Batman films would have been like it they were more like Batman (1989) and Batman Returns

It isn't true. Nolan probably only has a really basic idea of what he wants, and maybe not even that. Heck, he may not be even mentally committed to the film at this point. Everything you hear unless it is officially announced by Warner Bros. should be taken as heresay and rumor.

I'm sure Warner Brothers would love to pump out a Batman 3 but I'm equally as certain that they're willing to wait for Nolan to tell them when he's ready to make the movie. Studio executives are a superstitious and cowardly lot they'll wait for Nolan to make up his mind before they announce jack shit about this movie.

Ha. True that.

I'm sure there's a Warner studio exec somewhere saying, "I don't want to wait for Christopher Nolan. Who needs him when we can get Brett Ratner!"

I think that's what they were aiming for with Batman Forever. I think that's what made it fun to watch, with the simularities of the 60's series :)

It's funny to see how Warner steered those first four movies. The first movie made a ton of money, but the second movie was deemed to dark so they wanted to go in another direction. The third movie made a ton of money, and then the fourth movie went too light.

It seems they've found the right balance with the Nolan movies. I doubt we'll be seeing a light, frothy new direction for the next Batman movie.

Scariest part: he'd do a Christmas Card with himself as Batman on the set.
