Bathroom blunder?

How does Captain Archers dog, Porthos, go to the bathroom. I watched Episodes like Strange New World when they first aired, so I'm a pretty big fan; Its just something my wife asked me.

All these years of watching and it just sorta struck me... Unless he has a Doggy Box to do his business in... Archer can't exactly clean it up during their walks through the ship. Does he hold it till they find a habitable planet?

Maybe I'm still not over the fact that my Enterprise is gone but... I think I'm losing it.

It doesn't but I suspect it does have a regular micturition and the odd defecation.

It goes along way (no pun intended) explaining why Archer never looked comfortable in the big chair.

Besides, what do you really think it was that made T'Pol wrinkle up her nose in "Broken Bow" -- Archer's socks? C'mon...
