Basic Relaunch Question

I have a question regarding the reading order of the DS9 relaunch. I have read many if not, most of the books, but it has been some time since I read the first ones.

My question is, what would the first five books be? I was over at Memory Alpha and it seems that Avatar books one and two would be the first two, but what follows that? I honestly don't have tons of time to research it and I knew someone here would have a better memory than I.

I want to introduce someone to the relaunch. The person is a DS9 fan but doesn't post online and I think would get a big kick out out of the relaunch.

Thanks for any help. Plus - have any of the older ones, which these are, been reprinted or in a combination volume?

Again, thanks.

Actually it seems that many would argue that A Stitch in Time and Lives of Dax should be first but who am I to say? In order of release you would have:

Avatar Part One
Avatar Part Two
Section 31 - Abyss
Gateways 4 - Demons of Air and Darkness
Gateways 7 - What Lay Beyond
Mission Gamma - Twilight
Mission Gamma - The Gray Spirit
Mission Gamma - Cathedral
Mission Gamma - Lesser Evil
Rising Son
Left Hand of Destiny parts one and two
Unity
Worlds of Deep Space Nine - Parts 1 thru 3
Warpath

I hope this helps

Kevin

If you'd bothered to read a little of the forum before asking, O.P., you would have seen that the answers to this and much more are in the F.A.Q. thread stickied at the top of the forum! Bloody newbs. We're tryin' to run a forum, here, you know; can't be stoopin' to answer every little quibble from folk stumblin' in here drunk on ale.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Aw, cut the girl some slack. I mean, who really expects to find any useful information at this sorry excuse for a website?

Um, which Kevin are you, if I may ask? Gotta keep my Kevins straight....

ARRRRGGGHHHH!!! Even my boss doesn't read the FAQ! :scream: :(

:( :( :(

but I'm nice, so I'll link to the relevant post for you, Bonz. Just don't forget to give me a pay rise next time you get around to it. :)

talking about FAQ, it seems we need to add in the bit about the trade collection of the DS9 relaunch books.

Or you could just point to the reprint with all five, Twist of Faith.

Fantastic! Just what the Romulan (will) order(ed!). In fact, I can pick up a few more books since that is priced so reasonably.

I hope this helps.

It does. Thank you. :)

Bit.....er....I mean, man, I'm mortified. :o I had no idea it was in the FAQ here and like everyone else, I never notice the stickied posts.

IN ALL FAIRNESS, I would have originally read it and of course, any updates. Obviously, it didn't stick in my mind though. :o

Oh well. A little humiliation is a fair exchange for the time saved in not having to figure out the order of the books. :D

And yet Memory Beta specializes in the non canonical licensed tie-ins.

Well, I'm sure batting 0-2. Rather like my Pirates. :/ Learn something every day. I did Google initially which led me to Memory Alpha.

Ah well. Thanks all for the assistance. It is appreciated.

And my two mods? My uh, usual expression applies to you both. ;) :D

I would recommend pre-ordering he next DS9-R collection, These Haunted Seas. It reprints the first two books of the Mission Gamma series, which might seem a little light after getting a collection with four novels and a novella, but these two novels are big. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if the word counts of Twist of Faith and These Hauted Seas were actually very close.
