Armin Shimerman has just tweeted that Barry Jenner, DS9's Admiral Ross, has passed away.

I really liked Admiral Ross. I was searching on Netflix today and started watching Inter Arma Enim Silient Leges. I didn't finish it, but I think I might watch that episode in his tribute. Jenner brought a lot to the role, and Ross was one of the good admirals.

It's not Trek related, but this is from when Barry was on $100000 Pyramid. Great reaction when the player wins. He was on the show quite a bit. Dallas too I believe. RIP

Very sad. Looking back he might be the only Star Trek actor to have played an Honest, non Duplicitous, non asshole Admirral. Seemingly a very rare thing. I can't think of any others like him save perhaps Kirk's brief stint. (And if anyone points out the Bloodthirsty psychopath being promoted in Nemesis, I will beat you.)

I was just watching an episode of the original V where Barry Jenner played a Visitor crew member on the mother ship. Rest in peace Mr. Jenner.

I'm only on S4 of the re-watch, but I'm looking forward to the later seasons with Admiral Ross even more now.

RIP, Barry Jenner. I always remembered him for Family Matters and I liked him a lot on DS9. Admiral Ross was a very underrated character and he played the rare non-asshole Starfleet Admiral. Inter Arma Enim Silient Leges was definitely the defining episode featuring Ross.
