Barrowman: Public Will Accept New Doctor Matt Smith

I still havent seen anywhere that Jack will be in any of the specials.
I'm really hoping he will be in the two part special. He should get one more appearance with Tennant before he undoubtedly appears in Smith's last couple of episodes. :techman:

Captain Jack- Damn you doctor, always getting younger as I grow older.

Doctor- Yeah Jack but you get to live forever, something a TimeLord can never do.

The Doctor just skips to the interesting bits. That's not so bad.

But im still kind of new to this Doctor Who and upset that people i work with have never heard of this show. Insane.
Not in my country. I think I hadn't heard of it until I saw the Doctor portrayed by Christopher Eccleston. I had a shock when he changed into a totally different person.

The other week I explained to my sister that the funny-looking tin cans worn by the maids of honor in the 'Vicar of Dibley' finale were Daleks from Doctor Who.

Btw how tall is Matt Smith and how tall is Barrowman?
*Looks up Matt Smith on IMDb*
Hey, the 11th Doctor is the 11th Matt Smith in IMDb! Gotta be a sign.
No mention of his height, but I don't remember him looking shorter than 6'1" JJ Feild in The Ruby in the Smoke, and Barrowman is 6 ft.

Don't know about height but he's definitely shorter than Tennant, and he's wirier that Barrowman who's a lot broader.

I don't think Moffat will ignore everything that's happened in the last four years, remember he wrote some of it! That said whilst I don't expect him to radically alter the programme he does have to put his own stamp on it, so I imagine references to the RTD era will be thin on the ground to begin with, but I don't imagine for one second that Moffat will write off the first four seasons...or seasons 27 to 30 as they're also know

somehow I dont see a thread about that show, surviving to long in TV & Media forum, I see no reason we cant mention John Barrowmans other projects in this forum, as long as we dont start doing review threads

Sure. I know. Just being unhappy about The Thread That Shall Remain Nameless and finding it irrelevant though not untrue at all in its contents. :(

Anyway, since that's all right, I have a new thread in mind...

Pretty much what I'm expecting. Things will just carry on as they have before, though I'm betting things may take a slightly more serious tone. Mainly due to Moffets writing style, but also because I'm sure he'll be looking for a way to thumb his nose at all the people wingeing on about Matt being too young.

See I don't expect the tone to be that much more serious, Moffat has a history of writing exceptionally funny sitcoms after all, but I think the humour will likely be more subtle, there might be less silliness, but I doubt less funniness (if that makes sense?)

Oh sure. I'm not expectign the show to go emo or anything, but like you said, I think the humor will tend to be a little less 'whacky'.

Personally I siuspect it'll be a lot lik eseason 4. First story will be on the lighter side to let audiences recover from whats beginning to sound like a grim departure for Tennant. Followed by 2-3 dreamatic stories just to show people that the new Doctor has the acting chops for the part.
