Barcode scanners on new bridge... Linked to TWoK?

I was watching The Wrath of Khan last night and something struck me... There are controls on the consoles in Regula I that really resemble the barcode scanners on the new Enterprise bridge that have been pointed out several times on this forum.

You guys see what I mean?

Not yet but I'll check the movie later tonight. Of course, if that type of structure isn't actually there and this is a joke, it'll be the booth for you.

It's there. If I had the equipment I would've even done screen captures for you guys. :)

I tried going over some of the caps at TrekCore but didn't spot them. Perhaps, knowing where and when in the movie to look, you'll be able to find the right cap more quickly.

Agreed, I went through all the Regula 1 pics and saw neither hide nor hair of 'em.

It's in the scene in the main lab after Chekov says that the Reliant is coming for Genesis and David is saying that of course they choose to come now since almost everybody's on leave. There's a pan around the lab and there's these two big black joystick things that look like the scanners on the new Enterprise bridge, kinda, but of course different colors.

I remember them. I believe it's a console with joysticks and has appeared in numerous sci-fi movies and tv series. Gotta love Modern Props.

Clearly this suggests that the genesis project will be featured in Star Trek XI part 2.

In honor of Riker's infamous scene from Insurrection, this is going to be the manual ship control for the upcoming Star Trek: Titan TV series --

No, no, this is the new manual controller. Trust me, I've seen the movie:

I'm pretty sure the Power Glove is what Kirk gives to Spock when Spock reaches that "seventh year."
