Barbara March has died.

aka Lursa of the House of Duras. Sad news, apparently she died on Sunday after a battle with cancer.

Something I never even knew 'til just now, she was married to Alan Scarfe for forty years. A Klingon and a Romulan in love...just like the storyline* he appeared in, Birthright part II.

I recall briefly considering doing this when my father passed away in the hospital ICU seven years ago. Not sure if the rest of my family would have appreciated it.

I had an old dog who used to sit with me when I watched Star Trek, he used to run to the screen when the Klingons were on. I gave that scream for him when he died, still miss the little guy now.

RIP. Lursa and B'Etor were brilliant villains. The two actresses had great chemistry together. I always lamented they were killed off so soon. They'd have been great in the later seasons of DS9.

My friend (may he RIP) and I went to a convention to see them back in 2010. That was the Chicago convention where Leonard Nimoy had to cancel because he was having gall bladder/appendix surgery. Anyway, they had started the panels about an hour sooner than in the schedule, and my friend and I had just arrived not even yet signed in to pick up our passes. So we missed those two entirely, and I still hate that because I wanted to meet them both. I love a good scene chewing villain, and with Lursa and B'etor we had two great ones.

Rest in peace, Barbara, you will be missed.
