Banshee is hard, even for HBO.

Well, Rachel "Black Canary" Skarsten takes her top off in the pilot and then cries in the shower.

Tears are so sexy.

I just mean action shows in general, The Transporter particularly is very reminiscent of something like The A-Team or Knightrider, in that it is one story a week, where a tough guy on the fringes of society helps somebody out of trouble or faces some moral dilemma, and focussed primarily on action over character drama.

Banshee is very violent and sexually explicit, that's true, but it seems to be steering in a "gang of misfits pulls off jobs each week" direction, and is about a tough guy and his backup, who has to balance his inherently moral side with kicking some ass each week. They both remind me of 80s TV.

ETA: I don't think the main character in either show is morally challenged, they both seem to have strong ideas of what they consider moral, and stick to them.

Now all we need is a few good anthology series to go with Femme Fatales, like the old outer limits, tales from the crypt, perversions of science, and red shoe diaries.

Or Amazing Stories. That one was great. They keep trying with those, but the appetite for them seems to be gone.

After seeing tonights episode of Banshee, I have decided that Die Hard hereafter should always be referred to as "Ticklefight".

Oh.

Odette Anabelle.

Is there nothing she can't class up?

Its basically 45 minutes of fighting, car chases and boobs.
Is that good or bad?

Oh good. TBH, the car chases sometimes leave a little to be desired, some of them are obviously sped up, but the fight choreography is really good, and the women are attractive.

There's only so much of that sort of thing I can take, but there hasn't really been a full on mindless action show that wasn't watered down for US network TV or basic cable for a while, and The Transporter is definitely it, and has the benefit of being produced for European network TV, which is a lot more explicit.

You had me with "and all the boobies" I'm in. JK.

Sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out.

Wet, just like anyone else glistening in the shower.

Watching her kill things on Lost girl is way hotter than a couple moments of free dumpling exposure.

For anyone who's interested they do have the first episode of Banshee up for everyone for free on the Cinemax website. I'm hoping to check it out sometime this week.
According to Wikipedia Cinemax is gong to start show The Transporter: The Series sometime this year.

The first episode is shit. It doesn't get really hard till... I am not talking about my erection here, or in the thread title... "Hard" is a English euphemism for "tough" as in tough guy... Remember when Spongebob went to the Biker bar in the Spongebob Movie to prove his manliness? THAT is what I'm talking about, but I digress, the first episode was shit, Banshee doesn't really get hard until episode 5.

Wow and I thought the first episode was fairly good, I guess i have more to look forward to.

Watched the free first episode this morning. Great stuff. Now the wait for the DVDs is going to be excruciating. I just want to know one thing, do they ever give a definitive answer about whether or not the girl is his daughter is the main character's? That was certainly the impression I got.
