Bajoran Wormhole dimensions and side effects

This thread just made me wonder, could you get lost in the wormhole? Was it always a tunnel surrounded by those eddys. What if you were traveling and then for some reason in the wormhole you turned right.

I'm not a great fan of Babylon 5, I saw the first season ages ago, but if I recall right, their navigation system can get lost in hyperspace.
