"Bad Company 2"

Don't you want to play it online? Or are you a single-player only kind of gamer?

SG-17 - I'm a single player only kind of guy. I dont have the capability to play it online. It is not a fun game in single player mode. I have it listed on ebay. If it sells I am going to use the money to buy two books I want.

I just bought the PC version of the game tonight. I have had a chance to play the multiplayer for a few hours and think it is pretty fun. The destructible environments give the game a great sense of freedom. I thought it was really cool when I discovered that I could just knife my way through fences and doorways. Definitely an improvement over previous Battlefields in that respect.

Just FYI: If you didn't use the VIP code, make sure you include that in your auction. You might even want to raise the price a bit or perhaps even sell the code separately.

As it stands, the code is worth 15 bucks by itself.

firehawk12 - I didnt use the code and included it in the auction. Somebody already bought it and I just got back from mailing it. I'm happy. I got rid of what I consider to be a poor game when it comes to the single player mode and was able to buy the two books I wanted.

I'll be moving in a year and will probably get my PS3 hooked up so I can play online once I move. At that point I might buy it when the price drops significantly and try it online.

For a single player like me this game was horrible. I just got done playing some levels in the first BF BC and I had far more fun than I did with this one.

For me it's always been like this:

Call Of Duty games = Single player great, Multi okay

Battlefield games = What single player? (Seriously, haven't been one for the most of them) Multi fucking epic!

Me I'll probably buy the Modern Warfare titles at some point for the single player, but the multiplayer in BC2 I'll be having loads of fun with for months even after I unlock all the stuff withing the next two weeks or so.

The destructible environments are making this game my favorite Battlefield yet (I also own BF:1942, BF:Vietnam and BF2).

Being able to destroy structures has opened up all kinds of new strategies. For example, some people from the enemy team where guarding a spawn point by hiding in the second floor of a nearby house. I was able to use my grenade launcher to blow some holes in the houses wall and reduce their cover. It makes the battles a lot more intense when there is glass, trees, and all kinds of other debris flying all over the place.

I just wish the game had a better server browser. Something more like the Steam browser used for TF2, DOD, ect.

I still haven't tried the multiplayer yet, I'm still working through the singleplayer mode. But I'm enjoying it.

One thing I do love outright is the SOUND. I play through a surround system, and this game has AMAZING sound design. The crack of the guns, echoing off into the distance is just freaking awesome.

It's probably just me, but this game annoyed the hell out of me yesterday. Starting up, it came up with a mandatory update.

(OK, I guess you need to make sure it's running the latest patch if you're online a lot)

The game wouldn't start with out it so I let it go ahead and do what it wanted and now I have to start the game from scratch. When I try resuming, it just crashes to desktop. Oh well, it seems to be the weekend for games annoying me:lol:

I'm playing the game with 5.1 headphones and it almost feels like cheating.

Finally hopped online with this one tonight. My two buddies (and later three buddies) had a ball once we got used to the feel of the game which is very different than COD4/MW2.

Comparisons with MW2 are practically inevitable, and all I can say is I'm not going to miss MW2, a game I stopped playing months ago because of how broken and unbalanced the multiplayer was. Even getting stomped by the other team which had all players in level 20+, I had fun in BFBC2 because it didn't feel like any one person was dominating the game, IMO a BIG problem in MW2 even playing non-deathmatch modes. The teamwork aspects and destructible environments in BFBC2 really change how you play in a positive way. Maybe I just like squad based games better than the lone wolf free-for-alls that typically make up MW2 multiplayer.

Unfortunately single player isn't nearly as tight as MW2 and features some truly idiotic AI (at least on the default difficulty), but serves as a good training ground for the multiplayer. I don't think I can recommend it to people only playing singleplayer--it's clear the focus was on balancing the multiplayer, something Infinity Ward should take notes from.

I just finished the abrams level and... meh. The whole single player is kind of lame so far. Just poorly designed all around. I heard the single player game in the 1st game was unique... I'm not seeing it here. What I'm seeing is a lower shelf copy of modern warfare.

This whole bad company series pissed me off. They finally add fully destructible terrain and structures to battlefield... but then they decide to make it console only. Good job guys. So they rectify that by finally making the second game for the pc... but they get rid of the destructible terrain and only make some walls explode. On top of that I can't even create my own server for my friends.

It's getting more and more difficult to justify playing games on the pc. Updating from xp to 7 somehow made it so my savegames for games for windows games didn't work anymore. Really? I have to have a constantly on internet connection to validate even single player games? It's just so much better to pirate on pc these days, it's no wonder the pc games industry is hurting so bad.

Capt Vulcan, The single player was a real let down and I felt I got cheated. It was not worth $60 bucks. Luckily I was able to sell it on ebay for just a little less than I paid for it so I basically got my money back.

I still like it. The save system is lame, though. They totally need to fix that with a patch. The checkpoints are way too far apart.

Is this a PC thing? I'm decidedly not good at games, but my biggest complaint about single player is my stupid AI squadmates who stand around and decide not to shoot enemies who they should very clearly be shooting (i.e., those WAY out in the open, charging towards us, etc). Granted I'm only about 1/3 or 1/2 of the way in because I keep getting sucked into multiplayer by my buddies, but I have zero complaints about the autosaving and checkpoints so far.

Yeah, there were times when I had to go back a bit. Ultimately, it's just easier to run and hide before going back to finish off the battle. The fact that your guys can't die helps a bit, since they really serve as distractions more than anything else.

Oh, no, sorry... I have the PS3 version. I just feel like I sometimes have to do certain things over and over again because the checkpoints are too far apart. The level where you need to move house to house so not to freeze to death, for example, there seemed to be large stretches of the level between checkpoints.

Maybe I'm just spoiled by the fact that COD spawns you practically where you died.

It's not a huge complaint, but a couple of times I've given up on the game for the night after the fourth or fifth death and having to replay long sections of a level each time.

I am replaying Battlefield Bad Company 1 and this game is 100% better than BF:BC 2. If they had made the single players like this then this game woudl have been great.
