Backordered Books

I noticed that Crucible: Spock and the McCoy book are backordered. Amazon says it ships in 1 to 3 months :guffaw:

I noticed similar problem in past with books in the Vanguard series.

Makes we wonder if they are small printings or if they end up being so good that demand outstrips supply?

Probably equal parts both. The copies per printing are kept as tight as possible to avoid overstocking and incurring warehousing costs, even though there's apparently still strong demand for these titles years after their initial release, which is not always the case.

I have noticed that too, if I don't buy books right away. I still have Errand of Fury Book Two: Demands of Honor on backorder. It has been that way since 08 March, but I keep in on back order as opposed to cancelling it on the off chance it'll come in. I am now also searching the local used books stores. I won't read Book One until I have the set.

The best solution is to get them as eBooks and avoid the wait or avoid not being able to get them at all.
