Well hey I can understand why this kind of tech is facing a backlash by people. But hey tech companies still got to make some money so why not, China loves this stuff and so do countries in the Gulf like Dubai.

Everyone will just start wearing surgical masks until masks themselves become more ornate and Dread Pirate Robert's prediction that everyone would be wearing them will come true.

Then they'll ban masks.

I remember i think it was back in the late 1980's full face motorcycle helmets got banned for awhile in certain areas of Equador because drive-by motorcycle assassinations were a thing, and the murderers could not be traced.

We've been steadily giving up liberties in the guise of a security that has yet to truly manifest itself, but once they are given up, they aren't obtainable again without a total loss of security. One reason why I hope humanity does leave earth and soon is that those far flung settlements will be a real danger-filled envrironment that will allow the species to thrive and not be so safe and hive minded. I don't have a lot of hope for life on earth, honestly.

Humanity is governed by morons and douchebags, greed and control, the rest they don't care about, I seriously think as a whole mankind has become more stupid the last 20 years or so..
 
The more one looks for criminality, the easier it is to find it. Lately the crusades have been about thought-crime, and no one is free from their past words now. I suspect we're heading for a kind of Neo-Victorean public social morality where the beast beneath the skin must be held in check greater than at any time in history; unless one wishes to remove themselves from the upper reaches of social strata and earning by the specter of a public shaming. Counter to that, it could make people gradually immune to it. If everyone is a pig, the trough does not smell so bad.

This is not my attempt to be reactionary. Most of the current social mob justice victims have certainly had it coming, but like Athenean Democracy, the results are not entirely beautiful nor productive in the end. China is already enacting a kind of social currency in all but name, and I suspect it will not be the last nationstate to do so.

China already has that in operation and AI's running that kind of system via cameras and such. So yeah about all that?
