Would the various Star Trek captains and crews be impressed with Doc Brown's time machine, if he happened to travel to their time periods?
I completely agree with all points made in this. Now hold on. Let's not dismiss this.
Doc Brown managed to create a time machine that you activate by driving a mid-sized sports car up to a speed of 88 mph. The best time travel method available to the trek captains is hurling carrier-sized (and bigger) spaceships at a yellow star at thousands of meters per second and hoping they only get caught in enough gravity to go faster and not fall straight in. I'd say, in terms of effort and inherent risk, the time machine made out of a DeLorean is much more impressive.
Of course, neither beats the one built by H.G. Wells' time traveler, who only had to sit in a fancy chair and push a lever.![]()

88mph isn't a bad trade off for going full pelt into a star...and hoping you are coming back out the other side.
Only problem is getting a Delorean off the hands of those collectors, them guys love their cars!
Aye but stick a Dilithium crystal or two in there instead, and you could power it for years without an issue! And no terrorism links either!Well...that and stealing plutonium to power it from Libyan terrorists. I'm pretty sure that could end badly if you tried it.
Well, he did single-handedly use 20th-century tech to make the 22nd-century Vulcan Science Directorate look like a bunch @$$#holes...
Meh, the VSD does that every time they open their mouths.Well, he did single-handedly use 20th-century tech to make the 22nd-century Vulcan Science Directorate look like a bunch @$$#holes...
Spock would probably say something like "A most impressive achievement using stone knives and bearskins."![]()
