Babylon 5 Script Book Project to be Revealed !

Of course I'm aware of the title. It's interesting that you put all the emphasis on the second half of the title. Is it not just as important to emphasize the first half? "Asked" ... But you and the others in the team have already said this is only JMS's words, not those of the people asking the questions. And since you wouldn't alter JMS's words, how is it even possible to have someone ask anything?
Nice quote but inaccurate. I haven't emphasized any part of the title.

To be accurate, what was actually said was that we didn't use (or steal as Daddy Todd tried to suggest) anybody else's posts. That doesn't mean that there aren't questions. Some long, some short and all of them germane to the answer, which, if you're familiar with the original posts, you know wasn't always the case. Simple and rather obvious answer: We wrote the questions, doing our best to keep the spirit of the original but not using other people's copyrighted writing.

Those of you who've read the archives at all probably know that there were many posts where there were no questions at all, or that JMS would sometimes respond to a comment that wasn't a question or that he'd sometimes answer what he thought was asked that really wasn't answering the question at all. Many other posts he'd be answering a dozen questions about completely unrelated topics. So if we were to just print the archives like that, it'd be more convenient for reading in bed but certainly no more enjoyable.

What we've done is exclude the posts that were indecipherable or were social pleasantries and broadly categorize the rest. Then we took each post and, in the cases where several topics were covered, split those into narrower categories, each with their own question. Then we sorted all of them chronologically by category. So now if you want to see what JMS had to say about G'Kar, for instance, those posts will all be together, sorted chronologically. Or production. Or the Station. Or any number of other subjects covered over the years.

Uh, I didn't suggest you were stealing, I asked if you were stealing. Different, in my mind.

But a perfectly legitimate question, given your explanation of -- and the name of -- this project.

You said no, and I accept that.

Please don't make up stuff about me, Jan.

I see. That puts a different spin on things, which - imo - should have been pointed out in the podcast. This isn't just a hardcopy of his posts, there is something new.

While I still don't see the need for something like this for myself, I can see how something like this may be found useful by others.

Given the way your post was worded, her reaction was more than understandable. It's best to carefully consider your own words before you start casting such aspersions.

That said, it's good that folks are not letting their tensions run away with the topic.
