Save yourself some coin and just rent it. Sadly, it doesn't come close to the original.
The original actually bothered to, you know, tell the story. The new one just seems to rush from action scene to action scene.

Exactly. One of the two reasons why I haven't seen too many films this year. (The other being "shaky-cam" editing / frantic cuts, or whatever name you pin to it.)
So, yes... to me, it WAS that bad.
Still, to each his own. It's worth a rent, if you're curious.

Clash of the Titans- Thought it was cool but short. My cousins who play MMORPG might have liked Perseus getting an upgrade with a shield.
I didn't check yet but I saw Alexander Siddig in the credits.

Exactly. I mean, aside from nostalgia, the original wasn't exactly an untouchable classic. The old Harry Hamlin version was basically an inferior redo of a much better Harryhausen movie, JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS. So it's not like the new version was trampling on sacred ground, at least as far I was concerned.
Even back in the eighties, I thought the old CLASH suffered in comparison to DRAGONSLAYER, which came out the same summer. I never quite understood why CLASH did better at the box office.
I thought the new version was at least as good as the original--with the bonus of no silly robot owl!
