Looking for the correct answer. I purchased the gray away mission jacket, but unsure where the insignia goes. In season 1, episode 3 the away team is wearing the away jacket, but are wearing their insignia on their shirts. In season 2 episode 10 Captain Batel is wearing the gray away jacket amd has the insignia on thee outside of the jacket. What is the correct placement of insignia when wearing the away jacket? Thanks!

Looks like both are appropriate, probably depending upon environmental conditions.
The RPF forum is a great site and has a couple of threads with pictures. The vast majority of the pictures are the insignia on the uniform and not the jacket. One would expect that there are allowances for how it can be worn, depending on the captain, and the situation.
