This question needs to consider all movies adjusted for inflation, which is not completely straightforward.
so back to my original question, do you guys think Avengers will break the all time record for a movie budget?
...that Ant-Man will not appear as a original Avenger as he had in the comics but he will make a cameo apparently as a scientist working at S.H.I.E.L.D in The Avengers leading up to his full/main first appearence as a hero in Ant-Man film currently being written, but almost finished,by Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish.
Ruffalo tells Collider that he begins shooting his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in "The Avengers" in the first week of May. The site asked him about his preparation for the role, to which he responded "We have to get the script. We’ve been working on the script, which has been fun. I’ve lost 15 pounds. They don’t want me all ripped up, but they want me to be lean and mean. It’s about trying to get the psychology of somebody who knows, at any moment, they could literally tear the roof off of wherever they are and trying to bring something real to that and totally fantastic. I’ve been working with Joss Whedon on the script, with the rest of the cast, and we start rehearsals soon."
Loki may not be in the movie after all - the actor playing him in Thor, Tom Hiddleston, says he doesn't know if he's in it or not:
