it's on 300 now.
THIS. IS. AVENGERS!
THIS. IS. AVENGERS!
I'm surprised at all the positivity surrounding this movie. It's got a near unanimous "A" vote here and a 94% at Rotten Tomatoes. So I have to ask... What did this movie deliver that universally panned movies like Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Green Lantern didn't? I enjoyed The Avengers, it was indeed a lot of fun, but to me, it's pretty much the same as any other superhero movie that's come out over the last decade. I don't see what sets this one apart. Hopefully someone can shed some light on what makes this movie work so well for so many people.
If you've been keeping up with all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe tidbits, then the Marvel One Shots need no introduction. If not, the One Shots are short films on the Blu-rays of the feature films that expand on small ideas from the film or bridge it between another. The two as of now are A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer and The Consultant. When the special features for The Avengers Blu-ray was announced, no one was surprised to see another Marvel One Shot on the list titled "Item 47."
Up until now details have been non-existent but thanks to EW, we now have the scoop on whats going to happen in this short film.
Lizzy Caplan and Jesse Bradford star as a down-on-their-luck couple who find one of the discarded alien guns from the finale to The Avengers — and proceed to make some incredibly bad decisions.
This is the longest, most elaborate of the Marvel shorts so far, and could be a first step toward using short-subject films to dive deeper into the Marvel universe and introduce beloved but less-familiar superheroes to the mainstream.
Item 47 refers to the gun itself, which S.H.I.E.L.D. would like very much to retrieve from the hapless young troublemakers. “The world is topsy-turvy now. There’s been an alien invasion, and things are crazy,” explains Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito, who directed the film himself. “So when this gun literally fell into their lap, this is a sign: We’re going to rob a few banks, we’re going to buy a boat, we’re going to the Caribbean, and all our problems will be solved.”
Two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents (Maximiliano Hernández, returning from Thor and The Avengers, and Lost’s Man in Black Titus Welliver, making his Marvel debut) are given the job of cleaning up the mess and stopping this modern Bonnie and Clyde (not coincidentally named Benny and Claire.)
EW also ads that Marvel is currently exploring how to continue this trend and are developing scripts for the current pipeline of films Iron Man 3, Thor 2 and Captain America 2
I'm well aware of it. But the point is when you break it all down you're paying $25.50 each for the 6 films. Which is just about what you'd pay for them if you bought them seperately at your local Target or Wally World. Ergo there is no discount.
And it was Set Harth that was outraged. I was just suggesting a reason why.
Marvel released 7 clips from the upcoming blu-ray & dvd. Including the Thanos after credits scene and one with that Captain America girl that wasn't in the movie.

I don't see any clip with the girl you mentioned. Aren't you mixing it with the one showing a preview of the new Marvel One-Shot short film?
