Here are pictures for those wondering what has been censored out of the UK Blu-Ray/DVD release.

It was in the movie while it was being shown in theaters, but for some reason it is gone now.

I've just found out the UK release has been gimped and I'm pretty annoyed by this.

No extras and no Joss Whedon commentary has fucked me right off, as has the editing of the film.

This is what I get for pre-ordering.

My UK copy will be getting returned the day it hits my doorstep and i'll be getting the much better looking US release.

Well I got the Blu-ray today, I got it from Sainsbury's which has the exclusive bonus disc 90 min docu on it. Also cheaper than Tesco & Asda prices too

Frankly I can live without commentaries, I mostly never listen to them anyway. Someone like Joss would be an exception, but even he is better with other people in the room to bounce off of.
As for the spear, yeah that's a bit weird, but whatever.

Maybe I just made this up too, but didn't I read somewhere that it's a German thing? I know they're big on censorship and ratings there, so I bet Disney had to cut it out for them, and then as Region 2's Europe they just cut it out for everyone else too.

That, my fellow ladies and gentledudes, is why I never pre-order anything. I can wait a couple of months. Then there's going to be a release with more special features, maybe even a Director's Cut, and it's going to be cheaper anyways.

I'm actually waiting for that Avengers Box that has everything from Iron Man 1 to The Avengers. But it has been postponed and was never going to be available in Europe anyway?
I also don't want that giant suitcase or whatever. I just want a nice slipcase containing the blu rays, that's all.

^^^
Actually it was good from a marketing standpoint. There were a few overseas holiday's it coincided with, plus it only helped fuel the interest once those folks got on line and began praising the film. It likely is a key reason it opened so much stronger than initial estimates were thinking.

I don't know the exact timing(it was a few weeks later after the US open) but it was also timed to open in, I want to say the Philippines and/or India, where it coincided with a long holiday weekend again. Opening larger there than any film on that date before.

Well it did come out in cinemas a week earlier here too, so to DVD release time wise it's actually the same

It's just an odd concept to me that an American-made movie based on American characters comes out in another nation a full week earlier. It makes little sense to me but, shrug, whatever.

It it is any consolation, the US is one of the few countries to get the uncut version on video along more with bonus features, including Joss Whedon commentary.;)

UK fans are rightfully pissed that they are getting the inferior verion on video.

The tip of spear... Inappropriate?

:wtf: UK, WTF?!

What's weird is that the people that rated movies in the UK were fine that scene and gave it a 12 rating, the movie was shown in theaters no problem.

But for some reason Disney decided to censor it for the video release in the UK and several other countries, hoping no one would notice. They didn't realize certain fans saw the movie multiple times and would remember that important scene. Hmmmm.

Just be gald they didn't censor it in the US versions.
