This one looks kind of fun. No idea when it will actually be on TV, though.

"The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" -- Further aligning the strength of Marvel's hugely popular characters and stories with the burgeoning Disney XD brand and global reach, an all-new animated series, "The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes," will debut in fall 2010 on Disney XD and DisneyXD.com. Beginning with the "Iron Man" and "Incredible Hulk" movies in 2008, the release of "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" follows Marvel's overall "Avengers Assemble" strategy introducing the greatest heroes in the Marvel Universe through various content platforms, including the upcoming feature films "Iron Man 2" in May of 2010, "Thor" in May of 2011 and "Captain America" in July of 2011, all building up to the Avengers theatrical film in 2012. Produced by Marvel Animation, the animated series features 52 episodes targeted at kids 9-14, starring Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, Giant Man and Wasp -- who form the Avengers, a team assembled when no single hero's powers can save the world. A 20-part "micro-series" that focuses on each hero's backstory will roll out in fall 2010 on Disney XD, immediately followed by the series premiere on Disney XD in the U.S. and, shortly thereafter, around the world. Disney XD, the single largest distributor of Marvel content around the world, currently showcases approximately 20 hours of Marvel series (including "The Spectacular Spider-Man," "Fantastic Four" and "Iron Man") each week.
It's Disney's new cable channel. They launched it last year to take the place of Toon Disney and Jetix in territories around the world. That's great! What's Disney XD?

I would say that the tone on Avengers is mature but not dark. It's not a kiddy show. I mean, there is peril. There is a lot of action, but I don't think there is any effort or desire to make it gritty. These are heroes. I would say the thing that is most unique about it is, it's more character-driven than most superhero action series. The relationships between the characters (are the focus). You're seeing more of that than you have, I think, in other series. I think that makes it skew a little older...but there is as much action as anybody of any age could want.
Well one's for the little kids and one's for the older ones. I just hope the writing is geared for adults as well as teens.
The characterizations on SHS and Avengers will no doubt be completely different. SHS is basically a parody. Avengers sounds like it will be more straight up action animated series. If Lamar is saying that its going to be a little more mature, then I think I can trust that.
Besides, so what about Iron Man being on three different shows with three different continuities. No different than the comics with Wolverine being on nearly every team anyway! Besides, each version is different. I'd agree with it being dumb if say it was the 90s and he was guest starring in Spider-Man and X-Men, while having his own show and then there being an Avengers show and all the continuities being linked. It would just smack too much of stunt casting.
This looks to be more for older children and teens.
