AVENGERS 2012: Who will be the villain?

hey guys, does anyone know who the villain will be? i tried reading wiki, but it just mentions Loki? i thought someone like dr. doom would be brought in as a match for the combined abilities of the avengers.

i dont think we need a completely separate thread for this. And yes its Loki and possibly some aliens that are "not skrulls" Doctor Doom is owned by 20th Century FOX.

Dr Doom is part of the Fantastic Four franchise, which is owned by another studio, so he's out. Loki is pretty powerful and has managed take on the Avengers in the past. Plus he's already a known entity to the moving going public. Rumors say the Skrulls will involved.

Also, it's a homage to the original comics: Loki was the very first Avengers villain and his threat was what drove the separate heroes to work together and realize they should form a team.
