Avengers 2 News, Rumors, Etc. Pictures until release...

Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con is going on now, and they just switched focus from Ant-Man to Avengers: AoU. Cast are now making their entrances. Downey starts it off, throwing roses to the audience.

Live blog for those who want to follow along.

ETA: Pretty much everyone from the main cast showed up except for Scarlett Johansson. All of the "classic" Avengers (minus Johansson), Jackson, Smulders, as well as Paul Bettany, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and James Spader.

ETA 2: Pic of the group.

ETA 3:
When asked if there's anything he'd like to see Thor do, Hemsworth said, "Turn him into a woman!"

He jokes that he thinks it'll earn him his Oscar

ETA 4: Footage! I so wish I was there. It seems to be a scene of
the gang hanging out at the tower, all trying to lift Thor's hammer ending with evil-Ultron showing up
, followed by a montage.

ETA 5: Josh Brolin (Thanos) just showed up, wearing the Infinity Gauntlet

Cobie Smulders was there. Is she confirmed for any Marvel work besides the occasional guest shot on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

^ Since she was there with the rest of the Avengers 2 cast, I would say that she is indeed in the movie.

ETA: Description of the footage shown, copy/pasted from the live blog:

The Scarlet Witch needs a proper outfit for any future missions as a member of the Avengers. Don't know what Joss Whedon has in mind when it comes to this.

Zack Snyder is very appreciative of the way superheroes look in the comic books, and Watchmen's costume designs were quite faithful to the original graphic novel. Now Snyder has presented Wonder Woman and she looks terrific. She's recognizable as Wonder Woman. Snyder and his designers didn't run away from the comic books. I hope Whedon has noticed. Do we really want Wanda to be running around in a black skirt when she and team face Thanos? Maybe Whedon really hates tights and capes. Fine. Still, there must be a way to modernize Scarlet Witch while honoring her traditional costume.

Well, I think it's partly drawn from the Ultimates version as well, which had black pants. Really, my only regret is a lack of tiara. That being said, she seems to still be in the pre-costume stage given that she's pretty much just been living her life to survive. I think there's room to give her more of a costume for Avengers 3.

Also, from the impression that I get, she and Pietro will spend most of the movie in an antagonistic role towards the Avengers. We might not not see her "superhero" suit until the end.

Here's video of the Avengers: AoU portion of the Marvel Studios panel.

There is something disturbing about seeing that monogram on that prop, knowing what story purpose the prop was designed for.

Further: that is not to say that the sense of disturbance is a bad thing. Not in this context.

I really hope they release the footage in some form online officially. It sounds pretty awesome.

So it seems Cobie Smulders is really in the cast. Her character Maria Hill works for Stark now. Prediction: Shit happens inside Stark's lab, and Maria nearly becomes Ultron's first casualty.

I wonder just how tough the Ultron drones are going to be in this movie. After all, Marvel Studios doesn't have the rights the adamantium, and I don't really see how Stark Industries could have a massive stockpile of vibranium.

They could make up any bullshit metal - it's not a problem that isn't solved in one line of dialogue.
