August Resolutions

OMG, it's way too nice out today not to have a drink!

*grumbles*

I might have to buy some non-alcoholic beer.

I resolve that when I go to Las Vegas this week, I will not become a media sensation upon my return home.

Iced tea is a wonderful, refreshing beverage, particularly with lemon. :)

I might have to buy some non-alcoholic beer.

There goes the benefits of not drinking. Hello, calorie intake! :p (Although you at least wouldn't be processing the sugar from the alcohol. Well, not as much, anyway.)

Malt beer. :techman:

Just do what I always do whenever that chocolate craving comes back: suffer, whine, and bitch. Doesn't help at all, but at least you feel like you are doing something momentous and are receiving the badge of a martyr.

Okay, update.

For most of the afternoon, I was drinking Rootbeer...just to make myself feel like I was drinking beer.

Then my rootbeer ran out, and there were other beverages around, so I already failed my resolution by having a can of Coors Light. However, it was just Coors Light (which might as well be carbonated water), and it was only one can. I didn't even want a beer; I was just thirsty. Nobody even knew where it came from; none of drink Coors Light. It just kind of existed by itself in my friend's fridge.

As for calorie intake, that beer was the least of my concerns. We cooked out, and I had a New York strip steak, a cheeseburger, a hotdog, and some potatoes. We then went inside and were watching some random Food Network show about pizza, and Mark Summers was talking about pizza, and so we all decided we really wanted pizza. We went to Old Chicago, and I ate an absurd amount of pizza. Myself and one other friend split a large deep-dish pizza (they claim it serves 3-4 people). My friend had 3 pieces, and I ate the rest. And then I had dessert.

I feel like a fat ass.

Whatever works.

No you didn't ... :p

No big deal then. All in moderation.
I didn't even want a beer; I was just thirsty.
That's what water's for. :p

That's kinda scary. :p

I'll need to see for myself you know ... ;)

With food like that, you have failed. :p That's ok, i'm sure you still look amazing. ;)

To be fair, this resolution is not really intended for me to lose weight. This resolution is for me to be able to workout without feeling like crap. While being drunk is fun, my body hates me for several days after I drink, so my workouts end up suffering from it.

What you need to do is drink more, thus building your tolerance. :p But i do wish you good luck. I find it odd that you didn't quote the other part of my response, but that's ok. ;)

I have a tolerance! I was drinking 5 nights a week!

It's bizarre the way my body reacts to alcohol. I can just have one drink and still feel like hell the next day. I often get hungover without actually getting drunk. It's annoying.

What do you drink the most of? Perhaps your body just doesn't like that. My friend loves gin but her body doesn't. It's the only thing that always gives her hangovers ...

It doesn't matter what I drink. Everything I've ever drank has made me feel crappy the next day.

I'm awesome at drinking! It's the recovery that I suck at.

I'm really okay with this. It'll be good for my system, kinda like a mini detox.

All i'm saying is that perhaps your body doesn't like alcohol very much.

I applaud you. You have more willpower than i do when it comes to not drinking.

Oh, my body hates alcohol, but my brain loves being drunk.

That's what i assumed. It's funny because as a person of Hispanic decent, i supposedly lack an enzyme or whatever, to properly metabolize alcohol, but i'm a pretty good drinker ...

Thanks.[/QUOTE]

No problem man.

I was hoping you could stick to your resolution and feel better. Nevermind. Get up, dust yourself off, and try again. :D
