attention girls: embrace your inner...

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

I've never bothered to track at all.

It comes when it comes, and I usually get 12 hours warning in the form of lots of pain.

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

I don't need to keep track with the pills, but before I used them I never really bothered keeping track since it was always off by a couple of days one way or the other anyway. I could usually tell a few hours before it was going to start because I'd start feeling nauseous and such.

Conformist. :p

I bought some new bras today. They have underwire, which I've always avoided... but they have a bit of extra padding between the wire and me. It's suprisingly comfortable. :)

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

I don't usually need to put it on a calendar. Lately I've been right on time.

This month was pretty awful. I was in a lot of pain from cramps. Thank God it's almost over... :(

Luckily I've got a house full of chocolate and nowhere to go :)

Gosh that sounds great and it's not even that time of the month for me!

Oh yeah, it feels great now. But it won't when I take my measurements in a few days.

*passes out the remains of the stash* Here, take it for the sake of my waistline!

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

i'm imagining Eratta sitting around with chocolate in one hand and wine in the other. :p

before going on the pill, i knew my period was coming by the blinding MIGRAINE. i'm so never going off the pill.

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

^^ Migraine? Yeah, I wouldn't ever go off the pill either.

There was no wine for me tonight...I keep forgetting that I can go buy my own alcohol now. It just doesn't feel right in my current setting

I'm feeling better though. Sugar helped immensely, as did mass quantities of tea.

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

i was about to write something, but then an always "have a happy period" commercial with a pad as a roller coaster car came on, and i have no idea what i was going to say.

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

^ I was talking to someone on the phone when that commercial came on and I was totally mesemerized/horrified by it. What a strange commercial!

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

I'm surprised Robot Chicken hasn't done something with that commercial...

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

"Have a happy period"?!? :wtf: What man came up with that slogan?

I think I've begun getting PMS migrains. The past two months, my period has been preceded by two days of wretched headaches that four Advil every four to six hours can't seem to touch. I'm tracking them; once school starts, the doc and I are going to have a very long talk about my cycle.

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

Only a man or a really dumb woman could've come up with that slogan...

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

ladies, I have a fantastic find to share with you. Do we all agree that jeans shopping sucks? Yes? Then you might be interested in makeyourownjeans.com. I just got my first pair, and they are absolutely perfect.

In other words, an advertiser? ;)

I've never had problems with jeans shopping... I just go to the store, pull a pair off the shelf, and pay for them.

 I rewatched What Women Want the other night. Mel's character was a riot during the pink box sampling scenes. I think, though, that advertising for fem hygiene products should be left to the gender that actually uses the product. (If we gave a man a functioning uterus, he'd never write "have a happy period". You know I'm right.)

That must be nice. Once I find a brand/style that fits well enough, I stick with it until they no longer make it. My legs are short enough that I need short length but not short enough for petite length. <sigh> That's challenging at times. After one reaches a certain age, cuffing one's jeans because the legs are too long just looks silly.

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

Just a heads up to the ladies in this thread that are into decorating--there's a great site that has everything from candles to vases in all sorts of hip and funky styles for reasonable prices. It's not the cheapest thing around, but it's not bad considering their selection.

www.jamaligarden.com

I use them a lot for wedding and event decorations and it just occurred to me that some of you ladies might find their site useful as well. :)

YES!!!!

Two cool links. I knew this thread was worth coming into. I'm going to go check them out.

"Saw my life this morning / Lying at the bottom of a drawer / All this stuff I'm saving / God knows what this junk is for [ * ] / And whatever I believed in / This is all I have to show / What the Hell were all the reasons / For holding on for such dear life / Here's where I let go." - Mary-Chapin Carpenter ("Almost Home")

I've been going through old things again. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get that song out of my head. I never can when I go through things, because I'm the kind of person who can just randomly decide to overhaul things, get rid of things that were once major purchases, etc, but can't seem to throw out greeting cards from anyone or letters from my Mamaw for anything. Some of the things I still have redefine sappy.

I never quite got that "Here's where I let go" part down. It's a good thing that I don't keep anything large.

*= I like to think of that line not as using His name in vein, but as saying that He's been with me through it all and knows what this junk is for. That way, I don't feel bad about singing along. It does take the punch out of the line, though.

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

Hmm...I read it as only God knows why this stuff was important to me, 'cause I sure don't anymore.

Stuff is clutter when you either don't use it or don't love it anymore. If you love the letters from your Mamaw, they are not clutter, and you don't need to let them go.
