attention girls: embrace your inner...

Suddenly, I'm reminded that being flat-chested can be a good thing. Until I started talking to other women, I thought the only upside was that men actually look me in the eye.

Seriously, though, I pity ya'll on the bra thing. But, at least you get the upsides of having those things too.

Yes, I'm in one of those "everybody wins" moods, as opposed to the "everyone has to put up with some kind of crap" alternative.

What? You're flat-chested? I didn't notice :) I was too busy looking at your eyes and your smile...

I buy my Over-the-shoulder-boulder-holders at Costco, and quite like the quality, comfort and fit of them the best of any place I've bought undergarments from. They're nice & cheap, too.

I still hate wearing them, though. Even though I'm small chested, and larger breasted women presume to tell me I have it good and can go braless whenever I want...it doesn't work that way. My small boobs look odd through clothing and I don't want my nipples showing through my shirts anyway, most clothing doesn't fit me in the chest unless I have padding and under wire to fill things out, and yes, even small boobs flop around conspicuously and uncomfortably while you're in motion.

So I wear a bra, everyday.

I used to be flat chested! I kind of enjoyed it ... then I had three kids, and suddenly I found myself a "D" cup by the time I reached my 40s. Yowzah. Kind of hard to go braless these days. Even after losing 30 pounds a year ago I'm still a C. :vulcan: I really hate bras, but at least I finally found a brand that's not too horribly uncomfortable (and not too horribly expensive either. Woo hoo!) Still, I take them off first chance I get, when I'm home and can wear slouchy sweatclothes or PJs.

^^ What do you mean, "like shit"? Are they just smaller? Or are they droopier due to you having less fat and just as much skin?

I refer to them as "deflated" like a balloon, lol. They aint as pretty as they used to be, not by a long shot. :(

Last night I was helping a woman who was trying to buy a post-surgery bra for her daughter who just came home from the hospital after a mastectomy. She was buying the extra large size and telling me that her daughter was 34B and I was having trouble explaining to her that she was buying 2 sizes too big. Finally I just came out and said that I wear the extra large and I'm a 42D.

She looked at me and said, without thinking, "You're huge!" And then she covered her mouth and you could see that she regretted what she had said.

So, what could I say to that? "My boyfriend has no complaints."

In other news, even the bra fitter needs to get fitted sometimes. I've slowly dropped 10 lbs since my last fitting and actually dropped a full cup without noticing -- until a coworker pointed it out.

^

i hate the corset-type dresses that fit through the hips and stomach and... are about 3 inches away from my boobs.

^ "Corset-type" things aren't supposed to fit. They're supposed to smash, squish, and otherwise reduce everywhere but the breasts. If it fit everywhere else, the whole thing was too big. ;) [half-kidding]

---

I certainly wasn't talking about or suggesting that anyone go braless. I certainly wouldn't. That's just tacky, no matter what size and shape they are.

---

I just took out a singles ad. Even though it's with a Catholic group, please tell me I'm crazy. I just need to hear it from someone else. (And, no, Joe/stoney you are not answering it. I do love you, though, even if it's not that way.)

^Yay for you!

Now that many of us are finished, let's just say that May is going to be the easiest ever on all of us. I know that won't be the case, but if we say it will be, we can be ignorant right up until the first tinge of pain. ;)

You're not crazy :p...

woohoo, i bought new shoes (you know, because they were really necessary). these and something i can't find on the website, but they have a strap over the instep and a loop for the big toe and a 2.5" wedge heel.

they were buy one get one 50% off, so it was absolutely necessary to buy 2 pairs. right? :p

daeana Cute! And, of course you have to take advantage of the sale. ;)

---

Sunday, I realized that I need to be a little more like daeana and kimc. I walked out the door and felt something cold and wet. I realized that the sole that had been wearing/crumbling out of my left church shoe for a while had finally come off completely, all the way up to where the heel was mounted. I had been trying to save money by trying not to replace them, since I only wear them for a couple of hours every week.

I had to go inside and get the only other shoes that I had that matched the outfit...a pair of black strapy sandals. That was SOOOO cold.

I went to the Goodwill that afternoon and got some classic pumps for $5.99. Since it was only six bucks, I should have sprung for them sooner.
