Attack Wing game DS9 question

I am thinking about buying the big Attack Wing DS9 game piece but I'm wanting to find out the exact size of the model from someone who actually has one. Amazon gives four different sizes, anywhere from 11 to 14 inches.

Does anyone here actually own one and can tell me how many cm wide this beautyis? Thanks for any help!

Did you try asking at the DS9 expansion page on Board Game Geek? I have seen it, but I don't own it,nor do I play with it. It is quite big.

Thanks for the suggestion. It worked out today and I got an answer. It still wasn't completely clear but I'm sure within an inch now.

^^^^^^

When you get it, can you please post the diameter or height? I have the star ship collection DS9 model, which is lovely, plus the Franklin Mint one and I'd like to compare. (I also have the massive AMT model!)

Well I'm still confused what it's exact size is. Even from this person who sounds like he has it I get basically three answers. He claims the "ring" is 11 inches wide. But "the pylons stick out past that making it about 12 inches". Now this makes no sense to me because at each pylon the width is actually smaller not larger. So I have to assume he means the ring sticks out farther most other places than it does at the pylons and that the actual farthest ring width (which is the measurement I'm actually looking for) is about 12 inches. I'd really like a more precise measurement (and one which makes more sense).

The other info he gave was that the height was about 10 inches. Now based on what I can tell is the proportion of height to width of the station, that doesn't make sense either. Deep Space Nine is almost (if not) exactly 2/3 as tall as it is wide. So whether the model is 11 or 12 inches wide, it really shouldn't be anywhere close to 10 inches tall.

I've asked this person of that board for more clarification. If I find out anything else I'll post it here as well.

The reason I'm so interested is that I'm trying to find out what scale the model is built on. I've started a collection of 3D printed starships, and it would be so much easier to just buy this model already made and painted to go with the collection if it is 1/5000 or at least pretty close. It will be awesome to someday dock my 1/5000 USS Defiant which I ordered last week onto this. I really hope it is close to the right size.

It sounds as if he is measuring from the center of the model to the edge of the pylon, which would make sense if the station is traced out over an ellipsoid (rather than a sphere).

Finally got a concrete answer of this question from someone directing me to this video.

The width is 13 inches. A little bigger than I hoped it was, but at least I finally have the true answer.
