Atari, yes you heard right. Making a new console.

Yeah, I guess I don't play the types of games enough that would make using one a benefit. But how is it with FPSes where precise aiming is key? And how would it compare to a regular gamepad in that regard?

Virtually ever FPS today does aim assist because they're all designed for gamepads now.

Yeah, but you can always turn it off. So how would it fare seeing as it acts more like a mouse? I'd imagine it takes some getting used to.

Whatever it is, I hope it uses a nice aftermarket-2600-style JOYSTICK additional buttons and no need for calibration. Something like the old Spectravideo Quickshot controllers. If it does, I may find it worth picking up for that even if the console is crap. ;)

They're doing a SKU with a wood paneled console, which is all I needed to know.

I hope this comes with a power adapter that requires me to contort, twist and bend many part of the thin power cable wire, and tape it down with electrical tape to make it work....every time i turn it on, other wise it just won't feel nostagic. lol

I may be imagining things, but didn't Atari makes something like this years ago? No, I'm not talking about the original machines, I'm talking about the late 90's or early 00's. They looked like the old style joysticks that you plugged into the TV but that had a bunch of old roms on a chip. I remember seeing them for sale somewhere or another.

They still make those.
