Assassin's Creed Origins

I like the game, played for 40+ hours, doing lots of side-missions and other poinys-of-interest...
I'm level 34 and the 1st mission i will be doing next is level 29...
Max level is 40...
Side-missions are varied with some nice background stories, but they are mostly things you do because you are the last Medjay(constable) of all of Egypt...

Does anyone know if the pyramids actually looked like that in Cleopatra's time? They were already over 2000 years old by that point.

I'm absolutely loving this game... I actually really like it, exploring like crazy, just awesome.

Only thing I will say is I could not believe my eyes in the microtransaction... Paying real money... For skill points, for in game gold, for crafting resources... In a single player game?

I mean to the games credit it gives you all these things pretty easily, I've almost maxed out all my crafting and I'm not even halfway through the game, probably not even a quarter cause I just raided the hell out of that first lake you get to where plenty of resources are being moved around.

This is the first AC I have played to the end and really enjoyed it. The gameplay was easy and it was lots of fun. I hope future titles are like this.

They were originally supposed to be covered in limestone, I believe. Not sure when it was all stripped away though.
I also read that it is believed the Egyptians did not build them. The Pharoah who is credited with building them supposed wrote they were dug out of the sand by his people.

So, I just got a PS4 and AC: Origins. Absolutely beautiful game! They should make this one a pack-in or something. Great use of lighting, I notice. Still really in the game for me, but when I got to the first city and you go over that crest, I had to just stop and stare at the beautiful scenery. It's already making me look forward to Red Dead Redemption 2.

I've heard people say it either should've ended after Desmond was no longer the lead (3) or after Black Flag. I have bought up to Rogue (which most have said are good) and played up to 3, and so far, while Revelations was very boring, I've quite enjoyed them overall.
The story is interesting, if not a little convoluted, but it's also just generally fun to play too, ignoring that. I like the present stuff more than the past, to be honest.
Probably why I had so much fun with Brotherhood; being able to play (even for a short time) as Desmond instead of Ezio.

I have no interest in later games though, and even Origins seems unnecessary and has pretty mixed opinions.

Been playing it tonight. One thing I'm absolutely thrilled with so far is that as far as I can tell they finally dropped "full sync" bullshit the series has been saddled with ever since Brotherhood. Once again I can play an Assassin's Creed game the way *I* want to play it and not be penalized for it. :techman:

I thought the AC games applied that concept in a creative way, but it's still an annoying feature. That you have to 'beat it' as the game says you should.

That is one thing I truly loathe about GTA V. It completely takes the fun out of the missions if you obsess about 'getting the gold medal' and doing their checklist of what should've happened in the mission. Doesn't that go directly against the concept of the freedom of open world games?

Something that occurred to me while playing, is that thankfully, the hunting in this game is not full of QTEs. That's another subset of QTE's that I've hated and it's been a horrible trend. Hunting should be based on a user's skill, not luck.

I finally beat the game the other night (only took me 80 hours) and I got the Platinum Trophy last night. I noticed a couple of extra side missions popped up so I'll probably finish them off tonight then start Far Cry 5 :D
