Assassin's Creed II

Seriously, where is the hype for this game gone? For awhile there it seemed to be getting a really big push, but as its release date nears it seems to be getting lost in the shuffle with Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2.

I've got all three of these games pre-ordered, but I've seen several articles lately that talk about the big games this holiday season and Assassin's Creed II is either not mentioned at all, or put in as almost an afterthought. Is anybody else waiting for this game as anxiously as I am? From the sound of it, all of the problems I had with the original (which I loved) seem to have been fixed. Hell, I loved just climbing towers and looking at the scenery.

This is going to be a great holiday for gamers!

I'm looking forward to it, though I probably won't play it until a year after it comes out that's my usual record. I enjoyed the first one but agree it was horrifically repetitive.

I was really excited by this game, then I remembered I don't have anything more recent than an N64, so I lost some interest. Cool time for a game, though.

Lots of games have been bumped from Q4'09 to Q1'10 so as to avoid competing with Modern Warfare 2. It seems that publishers are beginning to discover that shoving every game out the door simultaneously isn't actually a winning strategy for any but the most high-profile games.

Hopefully this means game releases in the future will be more evenly distributed instead of clustered all around November and December.

Cannot wait to get the Creed II, I loved the 1st one despite some issues.

While I will definitely get AC2 right away, it's not really that high on my want list, especially compared to Uncharted 2 and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time.

This may sound strange as I'm getting the $79.00 Gamestop exclusive version of the game but I'm not that excited over it.

I had a fun enough time with the first one but it had zero replayability as I thought the save system and such were atrocious.
Why once you beat the game it didn't let you just free roam so you could finish getting the various collectibles was beyond me.

You had to load the various save points, put up with the 10 min long animation about a mission you've already beaten then got to only use the weapons you had up to that save point only to still have other areas of the map locked off.
D-U-M-M, DUMB!

GAWD! I hope the fixed that.

The first was a game with a great premise, but some seriously flawed execution. If the reviews come out and it sounds like most of those flaws have been fixed, then I'll certainly pick this one up. I loved climbing up the buildings and planning my assassination, but the incredibly repetitious nature of the game doesn't really make me want to play it again.
