Ashes to Ashes Series 2

Actually I figured they had blown their load too early last week when he was threatening Gene and that it would have to resolve fairly soon. I'm glad they didn't drag it out over the whole series.

Me too, I just expected they would. I don't know, as much as I loike LoM and AtA I don't especially rate their arc-writing skills.

I *still* haven't seen last week's, but I figured "screw it, it's not Babylon 5".

This show has really pulled it out of the bag, that last episode was pretty damn good. Plus I'm starting to warm to Drake. Thank fuck it improved!

Still watching, but I liked how they basically explained Drake's motivations by comparing her to Tyler.
Decent end to the arc. I'm still not sure if there's really any point to reading the obvious metaphor that Mac represents though. She worked with Hunt to take out her self doubt, to remind herself that she has another life which - as far as we know - is her real life.
In which case, Hunt ends up being an enabler of the character's true wishes - Tyler's wish to give up a "soulless" life in the 2000s and Drake's wish to return to her daughter.
If that's truly the case, I really hope that having sex with Hunt isn't the act that wakes Drake up from her coma...

Gene's love juice, a cure for comas?

I thought it was an excellent episode. I'm really enjoying this season, moreso than the first one and I liked that.

:guffaw:

I just had this image of some sustaining a hard-on all the way through their twenties. And then, to the sound of the THX logo in reverse, it goes limper than a rich tea after a 3 week dunk.

There's that old joke about the guy with a hard on going for a pee. He says "When I was 20, it stood up straight and I couldn't point it anywhere near the bowl, 5 years later I could push it down so it was almost straight, 5 years after that I could push it till it was at a good angle to almost get the piss in the toilet, and now I can get it pointed directly in the bowl."
His friend says "I think we all know what that means." and he replies "Yeah, I must be getting stronger as I get older."

I suppose the obvious thing to do would be to have her go through some kind of white space, since Tyler went through a dark tunnel (representing his view of the "future") in order to get out of his own coma.
I think the RomCom thing to do would be to have a kiss send her back - which is again, as far as you can get from being shot - which Tyler let happen when he was invited back to the "future".
It'd just be in keeping with Gene's sensitive vulgarity to have it happen in mid-shag, as it were.

Or, this could be like Lost/BSG, where the writers haven't even thought as far as when their next shit will be.

Best episode so far, must admit that I wasn't expecting the Super Mac arc to end so soon, but obviously the rose leaver is in on things as well...manipulating the past with future knowledge to take over the Masons maybe? :)

'Before we go in a quick word about police brutality...lots of it!'

Mein Gott, what else am I going to have to eat my words on? Is my next viewing of Star Trek XI going to induce ejaculation?

No, JJ. You will not get me this time.

What do you mean "next viewing"? We all know the last one did, it was just from all the crywanking you were doing...

That was Richie. He chose to suck me off, thought it was a marginally more pleasant alternative to watching the film.

For a moment i thought maybe Ray had hit her/him after he got a bit to close to her and found out what was under the skirt.
